For example if you don't agree with things that happened during the Lebanon situation. Does this make you a bad Christian?

Of course you can and dare I say it : you should. Unless of course you're on of these fundamentalist Christians who believes Israel is god's own country and that every thing should be done to support it for reasons all "fundies" will understand anyway.

Hey--a good JEW can disagree with Israeli policy.

I'm Jewish, and I deplore a lot of what has happened during both Sharon's and Olmert's administrations. That doesn't mean I don't support Israel whole-heartedly.

So disagreement with policy is okay, and not anti-semitic.

The definition of anti-semitism is: hostility toward or discrimination against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group. Now believe me: there's a LOT of that going on when it comes to criticism of Israel. A lot of people will bash Israel, scream apartheid, etc., for doing a little of things that other countries are doing a lot more of. There's a whole element out there--liberal and academic as well as the old bone-head anti-semites--whose hatred of Israel covers a deep underlying dislike of Jews.

But disagreement with some policies? No problem, IMO.

BTW, you should try to get a broader spectrum of information. The incident in Lebanon was not as portrayed in many media sources.

If your definition of a good Christian involves blind faith in baseless dogma, then yes, it makes you a terrible Christian. If your definition of a good Christian involves making choices based on sticking up for the little guy, abhorring hatred and arbitrary personal judgment on those around you, avoiding hypocrisy like the plague, and doing all those other things Jesus was big on, then by all means, you should probably think the whole Lebanon thing was a right load of bs. Of course, God probably wouldn't damn you in the eternal flames of His infinite mercy irregardless of what you think about how Israel dealt with Lebanon.

Not at all, you cannot sanction everything done by the state of Israel as if God Himself allows them to do whatever they like, besides every Christian should know that the modern state of Israel is not in accord with Gods will just because it seems to have Biblical significance.
Christianity is the completion of the Jewish religion. Had all of the Jews of Jesus’ time accepted him as the Messiah and entered the Church, there would have continued to be one true religion. But because Jesus of Nazareth was not accepted as the Messiah by the majority of the Jews of his time, a split occurred. Pre-Christian Judaism was the true religion; post-Christian Judaism is an incomplete religion because it lacks recognition of the Messiah it anticipates and so the state of Israel is in opposition to the Gospel.

Christianity and Israeli policy are not intertwined. Real Christianity has no political affliation. In fact, the Israeli government has done many things in the last 59 years to harrass and disturb Arab Christians and their worship.

True Christians support Israel and love the Jewish people. Read Romans chapters 9-11. That should answer your question.

yes
yet there are two sides to every policy--how would you feel in a land where you are being taught about to be hated and terrorized with suicide bombs right in your own home land.

some food for thought there is a spiritual battle going on for the hearts and minds of both sides
this is part of the battle here to help the Jewish and Muslims and Arabs some of whom do see the truth of Messiah Jesus=

"there is 2 sides to this question and true Jewish and Christian are one, yet to those purposefully in blindness no answer will do-
A person with an arguement that rejects others experience as those that have come to know the Jewish Messiah Jesus-Yeshua as promised to be born in Bethlehem Micah 5:1&2 from eternity-as well as many other prophecies which to this point you have continued to reject too, will never come to the truth.

Paul the Christian who was a former Rabbi, said "I am a Hebrew of the Hebrews" and "I could wish myself sent to hell tormented forever to see my Jewish people come to know the Messiah Jesus" Romans chapters 9-11
You as the good book says are spiritually blind-as I was as a physical Jew that rejected Jewish Scriptures too. When you have the answer, why would you reject the answer? If you know the Messiah personally why would you tell someone that rejects the Messiah "You are right."?

if the person has no idea about Scriptural Judaism they should not be awarded the points. Regardless if they know the Messiah or not. If you lived in Moses day you would not be considered a religious Jew, till you believed in the blood atonement for sins.

there is blindness as promised-The Messiah (which is what Christian means-a follower of the Messiah from the Greek word Cristos)

this is related from your past question which shows you are biased rejecting Moses and Isaiah as promised by Isaiah "the Messiah will be despised and rejected and lay down his life to make atonement for our sins" Isaiah 53=

I see so many misconceptions about Judaism expressed here every day, and so I'm asking: Why do you bother answering questions that are posed to Jews when don't know what you're talking about? Don't you realize you don't know much about Judaism at all?

My comments=
True Judaism believes Moses and Isaiah-therefore there has to be a blood sacrifice as commanded to Moses, and the one that will fulfill it before the temple is destroyed which would make God wrong to require a blood sacrifce to atone for sins and leave no way to fulfill it.

your comments
Edit: To you Christians who wrote to tell me why Judaism is wrong, the messiah has come, and I should become a Christian: Thanks, you've illustrated my point for me.

YES Moses said there is not atonement without the shedding of blood. Leviticus 17:11--those that did prayer and repentence also did the required blood atonement through the priest or the Messiah who came as promised to be the lamb of God.

Kwhistle: No, we don't sacrifice, and sacrifice was never necessary. We substitute prayer and repentance, because the sacrifice G-d desires is a contrite heart. We believe that when the messiah comes, the Temple will be rebuilt. Most Jews (not all) believe that sacrifices will then be reinstituted. I'm one of those that has my doubts about that. ;)

Corrosio: You're right--and no Jews ever WILL knock on your door, either. We believe that "the righteous of all nations have a place in the world to come", and that there's no need to proselytize.

MY COMMENT Isaiah the holy prophet said-"All we like sheep have gone astray-----HE SAID HE WAS NOT righteous "All of our righteosness is as filthy rags"
Jonah wasnt just a proselytizer to bring the people born under Judaism back to the Messiah, he was a proselytizer of the gentiles in Ninevah-who did repent and turn to the God of Israel.

You say once you learned about Jesus -whom I personally know as my Jewish messiah and best friend. And then you changed to reject Moses and Isaiah and the Messiah-I say its never to late for you to become Jewish-

the sweet pea a true Jew that believes in the Messiah of the Jewish people and all people-a true Christian which makes me a true Jew (not a follower of those that claim to be Jewish but reject Moses and Isaiah) in care and prayer for you-I agree with the Orthodox Rabbi that I have quoted before who also said Jesus is the Messiah.

perfectly illustrated-my answer to Christian and your question too about our Jewish people=You are a precious person truely loved by the Messiah of Israel
The point is the gentile that come to the Jewish Messiah is not required to study and practice Judaism laws-one of which if you carry money one the Sabbath you are as a Jewish person to be stoned to death along with wood or lighting a fire too.
I am a Jew, and I can tell you you didnt convert to Judaism nor were you ever a follower of the Messiah which is what Christian means be a person Jew or gentile born, you simply were and are part of religions-if you go in a garage that doesnt make you a car.

If you dont believe Moses and Isaiah you are following a religion that was made up when the Temple was destroyed because there was no blood atonement commanded by God through Moses.

Leviticus 17:11 The life of the flesh is in the blood and I have given it upon the altar to make atonement for your souls.
reading from the Hebrew or the orthodox Mazoretic text=
Isaiah gave the fulfillment of this in the Mighty God that was to be the son given the child born and the prince of peace Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah 52:13-53:12 Says he would be exaulted but first marred more than any man and lay down his life despised and rejected to make atonement for our sins.

Yet you are a person and just as important to the Messiah as anyone else, that is why he says he knocks on your heart door to come in, forgive sin and be your friend

as promised from the coming new coventant to know God personally Jeremiah 31:31 and following

strange how someone would ask a question say nothing bad and be accused of anti semitism, yet when others claim to follow Moses and Isaiah and reject their words-that is maybe even a bigger problem.

Shalom in the Sar Shalom the prince of peace, David the sweet pea who truely cares about you and is praying for you too.
