My 14 yr old daughter is getting close with with the director's son. The director though, is also my boss. She claims that they're just friends but I saw them holding hands. I also heard her friends talking about it and talking about how ugly he is and she agreed and again repeated that they are only friends. should i allow her to go out with my boss' son?

How are you planning to stop her? The only thing I would tell you is that you should make her understand there are just somethings she is too young to be doing right now. Whenever I hear a parent say they aren't going to permit a young woman or man to date I am reminded of the story of Romeo & Juliet. In that story the parents tried to control their children's romantic partners as well - remember how that turned out.

If you daughter is telling you there is nothing going on between her and the boy - treat her as you trust her and that she is telling you the truth (and not deceiving you). You will achieve the right things here if you build trust with your daughter and not believe she is lying to you and be a parent and be honest with your child about your concerns - not to forbid her from dating. Dating at 14 is not wrong - its quite normal for many if not most teenagers.

Good Luck!!!

Well if you are having doubts then they are there for a reason, 14 is a little too young to be dating. At 14 they should be talking about boys not dating them. But after all it is your daughter so in the end its all up to you. Good luck!

At 14, kids'll not listen to any suggestions, so the best thing u can do is invite her friend for snacks/ dinner...study his behaviour, tell frankly what u felt about him, tell her that this boy has got good qualities of a friend, but dating, boy friend is out of his way,. How is your relationship with your daughter? Do u discuss things?Good Luck.

Well that is not an age that can get too serious and its a time when she is going to start having dances soon.If you monitor it and it doesnt look like its getting out of control than whats the harm in it.Let her be happy, this is supposed to be the best times of her life

It might be bad for you! Plus 14 is a bit young oh and if they are holding hands than they are probably all ready dating when you're 14 it's a big thing

14 is NOT too young to be dating- seriously some people i've met went out with guys when they were 11- they don't even get up to much stuff-!!! let her learn and explore tht side of life it will help- and they sound like they don't get up to too much stuff if you see them holding hands it's a sighn of a more sensitive relationship

xx

let me tell you something this experience either go up or way down if you think cant plan this battle then back off now
if you can control your daughter so she can control the boy better than him controlin her then your dead as a career and as mother--you can get him to like her and few years later you'll get promoted--i say if you have a doubt back off now and try when your circumstances changed be later better than be sorry

Absolutely, there's nothing wrong with it, if you forbid her to see people (with no good reason) then she'll begin to rebel and then not tell you things and be as open with you. Save this for when she brings home some guy who's on drugs and has been in jail twice all ready, then you can tell her not to see someone because of a good reason.

Just let it be. Talk to your boss about it. Best get it in the open. Get his opinion too.
