My ChaCha is a wire haired terrier/chi mix we rescued from a boxfull of puppies in a thunderstorm on the roadside 3 yrs ago.
On command she will "Say her prayers", does the chachacha...(hence the name) & jump right into my arms while I am standing.
After my cancer I found bending over to pick her up difficult on even my best days so she just sort of knew to help me out if she wanted to be held.
She's such a funny little dog & so proud to watch over our newly adopted 5 yr old. She's a big help in letting me know what she is up to...LOL

They do somethings I have taught them, but they do this one thing that I did not teach them that I think is clever. When my dogs meet new dogs they work, as a team to figure out, if the new dog is a threat to them. My springer always goes up to the strange dogs head to sniff/ while keeping an eye on my westie...she might be thinking I am the biggest of us 2, so I could handle the hit more. My westie goes and takes a sniff of the strange dogs rear end. Then my dogs make eye contact with each other. Then the westie will start a game of chase. The strange dog chases the westie while my springer stays behind the stranger. They always seem to try to keep strange dogs in the middle of each other until they no longer think the stranger a threat. Also, if the strange dog plays too rough with my westie my springer will devert the strangers attention on to her by running in circles or getting the stranger to chase her.

I have a Boston Terrier and I love him! His name is Rocky. He loves to hide his chewsticks, but when he loses them, can't reach them, or is too scared to go in the dark by himself, he will come and get me. He will look all sad and act like he wants me to follow him. He also goes crazy when you ask "Do you want to go outside?!" He loves to play outside. Rocky will never get tired of playing with the tennis ball, no matter what. He would seriously die before he would quit. He sings to the guitar and harmonica. He has a vicegrip that will not give in. It is so strong that I can swing him over my head! while he is holding onto his rope knot (I am 6' 7''). He can sit, shake, jump horizontally over 3 1/2 feet high, and communicate with you if he needs to use the restroom, or if he hears someone is at the door. Rocky also knows which window to look out of when we are leaving the house. The best thing is that he will follow around a laser pointer! He will chase it for hours if we let him. One time, we hooked it to his collar. He was running all over the house and we didn't even have to do anything :O). We had to take it off of him of course, because if we didn't, he would run himself to death chasing a red light that he has never even caught. He can also catch any treat that you throw out of the air. I really love my dog, he is super awesome.

taught my dog to jump in the air to catch her treat! Its great, shes not small either, a labrador! She does the usual, sit, paw and roll over. But she will only roll over for her dad!
I love her!! ahh and my cats! The only clever thing my cats do is bring feeding time forward each day! Even when the clocks go back!

My dog can knit and order drinks from the bar....
Ok, I don't even have a dog. My cat does jump up and open door handles though, kind of annoying as he's new to the house and meant to be in a safe room but he kept opening the door so I have to keep a chair up against it.

When I had 2 cats in my old house, the greedy one ( a female called Smudge)would continually have her face over the feeding bowl, not giving the other one (A tom called Gus )absolutely no chance to get a bite in.So he learned to extend his paw and claw some food on it and just sit there ,on 3 legs ,eating it like if it was a sarnie !

My Border Collie knows the difference between all his toys. If you tell him to take his toys to bed, he does it, and if you say "No, not the cracker, take the red ball to bed", he drops the squeaky cracker where it is, comes back and gets the red ball (not the brown one), and takes it to bed to tidy up.
Also, he recognises Border Collies on the TV; every time we watch Crufts, he will actually leave his dinner to watch the Border Collies doing agility and flyball. I just thought it was the motion and the noise, but he goes away when other breeds are participtating and only comes back when it's a Border Collie.
Oh, and Eastenders is his favourite programme. Such good taste!

Cat lies down on his back & opens fridge door with claws under the bottom edge. We had to fit a child-proof catch after we saw half a chicken going out the cat flap! He's also worked out how to turn a tap on (one of those with a lever) so he can play with the drips . . .

I always have my dog (a pit bull) sit before she can get petted by people and if they don't pay attention to her as soon as her fanny hits the floor she starts prancing using just her front feet. She won't break her sit command but those front legs sure do get a workout. She also howls along to any Korn music she hears.

i do not really understand in the journey that they are cleverer than dogs. i imagine it is only a count number of diverse cats and dogs, reminiscent of a few all of us is smarter than persons :D! My cat found out a thanks to open the cat flap too, it changed into locked one way so as that they could nonetheless are available yet no longer bypass out, and he or she found out that if she pulled the flap in the route of herself, it would open and he or she might want to then move slowly outside :p! I talked about her do it.
