You may not believe in the IUD, but I have had a wonderful experience with mine. I use the hormone release IUD (called the Mirena) rather than the copper wire. It is good for five years and is statistically more reliable than sterilization. It releases a very low dose of progestin directly into my uterus, making it nearly impossible for me to conceive. My periods (once long and heavy) are now very short and very light. I experience very minor PMS symptoms (if any) and can't feel the IUD at all.
Some people object to hormonal-based birth control methods due to the slight chance that an egg may be fertilized but not be able to implant. The fact is, this is actually much more likely to happen if a woman is not taking birth control, as more eggs are fertilized. Eggs don't implant quite often, or implant so poorly that they miscarry within three weeks. It's called "having a pregnancy scare".

I also have an allergy to latex. What about latex free condoms? I know they are expensive but in the end they will be worth it. Apart from that and keeping a track of your period and when you ovulate and avoid sex during that time I don't think there's much more. I think that having a vasectomy is going to the extremes unless you and your husband are VERY sure you don't want any more kids. Good luck.

You may think i am out of my mind but my husband and i only use the pull out method. Have been for 6 years now. (We only have one child whom is 6 years old)
The pull out method has worked for us but the one time we did not use it i got pregnant which was in 2005 but i miscarried.
We have used it even since then and i have not gotten pregnant or even thought i was pregnant.
I believe he must be a master at it at knowing exactly when to pull out and i am telling you i have been thrown off of him a couple of times (lol) but see we don't know for sure if we want anymore kids or not.
Before i had my son i was on the depo shot which i loved. It worked so good and i never had my period which was something i did not miss.
I am almost 28 years old and i have one child, i am sure i would have more if we were not careful.
People claim that the withdrawl method doesn't work but it does for us. I also keep track of my ovulation dates (which i know can be guessing) on http://www.mymonthlycycles.com
Don't they make latex free condoms? You could use spermicide everytime.
You know all of the birth control out there and you know what it may do to you, this is something you will have to decide.
I am scared to have another baby also cause my pregnancy was horrible. I had pre-eclampsia, threw up from 2 months until i had my son at 35 weeks which he was healthy and did not require special medical attention in the hospital (He got out the same day as me -had a c-section)
I only gained 11 pounds during my pregnancy.
I got my medical records not long ago about the birth and found out i have a uterine septum that can cause miscarriages and pre-term labor.
It is scary thinking if you get pregnant again it will be like the last time but it may not be but i sit and think what if though, you know?
Sorry so long, got me thinking... Hope you decide. Good luck!

a vasectomy can be reversed if you guys change your minds ;) So I wouldn't worry about it. If you guys end up changing your minds, then he can go get a reversal, no big deal,... I think it's even easier than the actual procedure!
Good luck and Best wishes..
Kudos to your hubby for being willing to let someone have a blade even near his junk lmao
My husband was going to do it, but he is having second thoughts xD
Have a nice day!

Don't let your husband do this, it could be permanent despite a reversal procedure. Do you have the money for artificial insemination?
Go to your doctor and get appropriate options from there. Or you could go to the drugstore and get the sponge or Encare Gel.
There are non permanent solutions.
There is no promise that your second will be a preemie or that you will be very sick.
Take your time on this decision because it is life altering.

Wow this is a hard one. I guess the only option you may have left if the rythym method. Though you would have to keep a really good track of your cycle too so you dont fall pregnant before you are really ready too.... Sorry cant be more of a help. good luck

Where there is a will there is a way. The vasectomy and/or a tubal litigation are so final, please reconsider your options. You have thought thus far in the future, don't stop now and don't be hasty. God Bless you and your growing family.

if your having doubts of this then tell your partner before hand then at lest you two can sit down and talk about it to each other then you know what he is thinking and he knows what your thinking.
Maybe talk to the doctor's too so that then they could give you some options too
good luck 2 the 2 of you in this
