With every major oil/gas company and car manufacturer investing into alternatives, it shouldn't be a problem. Chevy and their new Volt and BMW with the hydrogen fuel car in testing now show that while it may be slow, serious progress is being made for alternative fueled vehicles.

That won't happen unless there is an alternative in place. By that time, someone will have invented a mechanism to convert fuel to the new source in existing cars.

If not, we will all buy new cars or we will move in to the city and ride a bike.

Walk like i do now. Or hopefully some smart person with skills will actually come up with a mode of transport that doesn't rely on it and then i would buy that if I could afford it...

I would ride my bike or learn to enjoy walking again. Sigh, the threat of no oil is just a drop in the bucket when it comes to the threat of no water. Then what will we do! We can live without oil. But we can not live without water.

Without gas/diesel, there won't be any transportation of dependable nature. Therefore, food distribution will be NIL.
Fend for yourselves.

They go 45 mph, keep you in shape and are fun. But, they have to be made safe. I see a tubular construction with hard plastic sheets.
