Hi!

I am the first to admit, i'm terrible for being too lazy to exercise.. But I need some help please.

I have quite a sedintry job. I sit at a desk for up to 12 hours a day! Can someone please reccomend me some simple yet effective lower back strengthening exercises? Something that I can just do at home, or even at work at my desk?

Thank you so much!!!!

:o)

Oh i understand you! Haha exercise sucks for all those who are lazy!

For warm up before every dance class we work on our lower backs by making it stronger and more flexible.

Its hard to explain withouth diagrams but ill try! First at home
sit on your butt stretch your arms OUT and lift both your legs up it is hard to maintain balance but it increases strength in your lower back and abdomen.

Another one is doing something similar to sit ups , sit in the position of a sit up and in counts of 8 very slowly go down to the floor, eg.
1, move a little bit back , 2 a little more, 3 a little bit more.
etc.

Then back up again in counts of 8 , this also increases strength in your lower back and abdomen.

Another exercise is the movement cats do , go on all fours hunch then curl hunch then curl your back.

Best of luck!

You should check this Sciatica Natural Treatment
http://cure-sciatica.info

Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

Lie flat on the floor on your stomach. Arch your back and raise your arms straight out in front. Also raise your legs. Only your abs should be touching the ground. Hold this position till it hurts too much. Do it three times in a row, once or twice a week.
