As far as I know, the ban is still in place...and I eat shellfish every chance I get. Snow crab legs and steamed shrimp are my favorites.

First of all, no self-respecting Jew would be caught dead at Red Lobster... we prefer more upscale joints...especially when we cannot get a table at a decent Chinese restaurant.
As for your question, the ban on shellfish and pork has never been repealed and, unlike Christians, we don't get "special dispensations".
The fact of the matter is that, if we break with Jewish Law for any reason, we'll get judged and do 08 months MAX in G-d's rehab unit, whereas Christians believe Hell is forever.
So, since the odds of a Jew breaking one of the 613 Laws of G-d are pretty good, we might as well enjoy the Lobster and a good BLT.
In for a penny, in for a pound, right? If you're gonna get nailed for something anyways, you might as well get your money's worth.
(Yes, I am Jewish).

For Christians:
Peter's vision in Acts 10 is often referred to, but more definite is the interesting interpolation in Mark 7:14-23
"(Thus he declared all foods clean)"
Brackets in the text (RSV, NIV, NASB)
