Corruption is a serious problem in many countries. The first step toward solving it is changing yourself, your heart and your attitude. Make sure you understand that corruption is not an acceptable way to do business. The next step is to teach your children this idea.
Third, you can report corruption, this is best done anonymously. Make sure you if you have the option to vote that you vote for candidates whose platforms include stamping out corruption. Begin a neighbor watch program in your area to report corruption and form groups with petitions to send to the government. If the local government is corrupt, send it to the next higher level.
Lastly, I would suggest you contact a neutral, third party charitable organization, like Amnesty International, and report to them the corruption you see happening in your area.

This isn't something one person can tackle alone -- it must be addressed by many different groups (nonprofits, the media, professional associations, etc.), working across various sectors. It has to be focused on both punishing the guilty as well as rewarding those who reform. It's easy to say "Don't particpate in corruption", but if you are at a hospital with a sick child and the staff is demanding bribes for treatment, what option do you *really* have at that moment?

Talk to nonprofits and the media in your area about anti-corruption efforts. Transparency International and the Development Gatway will also have resources that can help you.
