Because most atheists aren't interested in converting others. I don't claim that Christians are simple minded, but their belief structure is.

I didnt realize atheist thinking made the Soviet Union such a wonderful place.
I wish I could have lived there.
I guess you have to ask this question to other atheists since clearly you arent one of those logical thinking atheists.
Dont some of you atheists get embarrased by some of these answers in here of atheists that like to think they are sooo much better then every other religious person on this planet? I would hope a logical thinking atheist would shake their head in shame over an atheist that thought like some people that answered in here.

What they will tell you is that its because Faith isnt about logic. its about faith.
technically speaking though, if your basing this entirely on logic, atheism has a certain amount of faith within it too. there is no PROOF for or against God. it could be argued there is evidence. but they arnt the same thing. and evidence is not totally conclusive, only proof.
the only truly LOGICAL position to hold then is agnosticism, because the truth is we dont KNOW one way or the other.
Im also curious, why does it seem that disproving christians makes the world better? if ur takin about getting rid of those dudes who yell at you on street corner to repent, or the catholic sickfucks who molested those kids, then YEAH get those guys outta here!
but the adverage christian is just as good a person as you or I. most dont push faith, or even talk about it. and certainly there are some who are truly outstanding, loving, and honorable people.
there are countless numbers of christian charites who do tremendus amounts of good in the world. no doubt those people are driven by their faith. who knows if theyd still be there without it. certainly it cant be good for the world to hender the driving spirit of those who want to help the world.

It's not my place to try and 'help' anybody change their minds. All I can do is live the best life I'm able to, and let my example stand for itself. Not all Christians are simple minded, I might add. I've had some really great conversations with Christians who have put some real thought into their beliefs - we just reach different conclusions, is all. Life's too short to spend too much time worrying about it.

I wish it was as easy as you make it sound. There seems to be basic differences not only in the world view but in the basic thinking patterns involved.
Religion is just one part of the believer's authoritarian way of thinking. You see it in how believers deal with learning, politicians and social structures. The reliance on fear and force as motivators.
No. If it was as simple as dealing with simple minded it would be already done.

It's hard to come up with an argument that can't be refuted with reasoning or facts. Their faith is actually strong in that sense. It's impervious to a valid argument. And, it's not possible to disprove the existence of any god. You can prove god to be impossible beyond a reasonable doubt in the minds of rational people, but many religious people are simply irrational.

Christians think they have all the answers in the primitive ethics of a desert tribe as recorded in their bible and are reluctant to let go of this comfort blanket.

Does the better world include a lack of Christian principles which are written in the Decleration of Independence as freedoms for every citizen?

Christians are not simple-minded, they're close-minded.
It's impossible to help anyone who doesn't think they need help.
