I am not 100% sure that the price will be cut next year. But the indication show it will be, when MGS4/Playstation Home/Final FantasyXIII also release next year.
And one thing for sure (100%), Sony will release PS3 40 GB for only US$399. It is cheaper because there is no backward compatibility PS2, only 2 USB port, no memory card reader. Anything else is the same. Also in white ceramic color too (cool).
PSP or PS3? Why dont u buy both? It will connect each other. PSP will be a remote for PS3 to turn on or off, see content on your PS3 hard disk even u are away (using wifi).
If u have to choose one of those, it depends what u need.
Choose PSP for mobile use.
Choose PS3 for in depth gaming and multimedia, and blue ray player.
That's all.

I think you should buy a PS3. The 40GB PS3 just came out in the U.S. and is $399, the 60GB and 80GB models are both $499, but the 60GB models are being discontinued and will be harder to find as time passes.
As for another price drop, I think that the PS3's price may drop again next holiday season, but not before then. Sony just barely cut the price on the 80GB PS3 about a month or so ago and the 60GB PS3's price was cut also this year in the U.S., so I wouldn't expect anymore major price drops for at least another year.

The PSP is more for looks, not gameplay. I find it very annoying while people watch me play, and ask to play themselves. Also, it gets very sickening looking down at a screen. Get motion sickness (while driving in a car), muscle cramps in neck, and my thumbs hurt all the time. Also, the battery life is poor.
If you have the money, get the PS3. The price has already dropped, and probably wont anymore until they come out with the PS4. Though, I have an Xbox 360, I always find it fun to get some game time with the PS3.

I consider you in a feeling that i think of Sony is rather certainly one of the worst run businesses of its length interior the international. the solid information so some distance as blu ray is worried, is that that's supported by many businesses (no longer purely Sony like Beta Max became). Sony will on no account have total administration over Blu Ray. as some distance because of the fact the fee is worried, those fees are well-known for the launch of a sparkling media format. whilst DVD gamers have been first released, they too have been 1000 money and action pictures have been 30 to 40 each and each. the fees will go down because of the fact the producing numbers improve, merely wait. Do you have a link to the item or web site you study affirming that sony is attempting to restrict the sale of 2nd hand (i think you mean used) video games? If it rather is authentic, it rather is all i visit could desire to compliment to on no account purchase a PS3. furnish a link.

You should definitely get a psp. they are truly a wondrous piece of technology in the palm of your hand. The homebrew abilities are the real reason why you should get one though.
I think the price of the ps3 would go down in the next year for sure.
