Once you are being treated for depression, you can make lifestyle changes and choices that will help you through the rough times and may prevent depression from returning:
Try to identify and focus on activities that make you feel better. It is important to do things for yourself. Don't isolate yourself. Take part in activities even when you may not want to. Such activity may actually make you feel better.
Talk with your friends and family and consider joining a support group. Communicating and discussing your feelings is an integral part of your treatment and will help with your recovery.
Try to maintain a positive outlook. Having a good attitude can be beneficial.
Regular exercise and proper diet are essential to good health. Exercise has been found to increase the levels of the body's own natural antidepressants called endorphins.
Try to get enough rest and maintain a regular sleeping pattern.
Avoid drinking alcohol or using any illicit substances.

Sometimes if things are going "well" in life, we get depressed. We actually need some slight stressors or challenges to feel our best. Find a challenge: maybe change jobs, move to a new home, join a group activity.
Edit: It's called "stuck in a rut". Even if the rut is lined with gold, it can get pretty boring; ergo, depressing.

life is full of obstacles that we dont even know about. something must have gotten you mad the other day but u wont admit it. or you could be sad about something that happened years ago. im like that too. i know wut itz like to feel sad and hurt and suicidal. if ur a teenager, this is normal. there will be times where you just want to sit down and cry, but there will ALWAYS be room for happiness. take care.

dude u dont need drugs to be happy
depression doesnt even exist
its all in ur head
being happy is ALL in ur head
being sad is ALL in your head
if u think about it, everything u touch, feel, smell, it all comes
from ur brain
so if u think HAPPY thoughts, u fool ur brain into being happy
and if u think depressing thoughts, u become more depressed
try listening to upbeat music and not think negatively and ull become happier
depression is all in ur head
