I would think that exodus (military term for cease training its Christmas time) would be around 21 Dec - 4 Jan this year. Although each post is different.

It varies post-to-post, but usually it will begin within two or three days of the 1st, though it could be as early as the 2nd if it is a monday.

FYI for future reference... the block leave for Christmas will normally be for everyone in the Army except those in Iraq and those in Korea. In Korea they have to maintain a certain percentage of the unit at all times, and in Iraq there is a small rotation for leave.

I'll be in training for Exodus, and I was told around December 19th through January 3rd. And yes, they will have to pay for their plane/bus/train ticket home. But they Army will reimburse up to a certain point. You can't just get a 1st class plane ticket, haha. But a Coach ticket is within reason.

You will get a packet in the mail letting you know about that. He will be able to tell you. He just has to ask his instructors.
