if you look at the battery there will be a + and a -..... the + is hot or red hook +red to +red ...hook black- to black- from one cars battery to another or red to red black to black or + to + and - to -

Inexperienced Jump starting may lead to reverse polarity and electronic parts ruined. Got AAA? call a tow truck for jump start service? Then buy a new battery if it checks bad at Wal-Mart or Auto Parts Store. Batterys can explode if jumped improperly. So please find experenced help jumping off a dead car.
