1. Get plenty of rest.
2. Eat nutritiously to fight sickness.
3. Drink lots of water to flush the bugs out of your system.
4. Don't drink alcohol, it lowers your resistance to sickness.
Covering your throat does nothing for it. Gargling with warm salt water is the best thing for a sore throat.

Take vitamin C and Zinc if you are safe to do so, and echinacea (apparently it does actually do something), and gargle warm salt water (a quarter teaspoon of salt to a glass of water is plenty) to wash away the germs in your throat.
You can also snort it up your nose. No, really. Cup the water in your (washed!) hand and close one nostril by pressing it. Sniff the water up with your other nostril. It will feel yukky, very, but it shouldn't burn (if it does, too much salt) or feel like you went under at the swimming pool (if it does, too little salt). Weird, but effective. If that's just too weird, you can by salt water sprays at the pharmacy that you can spray up the nose instead of snorting.
On top of this, make sure you get enough sleep and eat well. good luck with your exams.

I take Airborne, the fizzy stuff a teacher made up to prevent getting sick. You can get it almost anywhere or get a generic brand. Take it by the directions, for two or three days to be sure. I haven't been really sick in years and I used to get sick a lot.

If the infection is already in your body is difficult do avoid it, but if the bacteria is still in your throat you can prevent it by gargling with a strong antiseptic afer brushing teeth, at night or when you feel the discomfort. besides you can swallow two or three pieces of garlic, sliced. that a great antibiotic and sometimes works immediately as well as a teaspooon of chile (Hot sauce) especially if it`s from chiltepe. tha`s another great antibiotic that cleans yous throat without causing any secunday effect.

Take zinc lozenges or use Zicam spray or swabs. Sounds like the multivitamin and antioxidant supplement you take must not be well absorbed by the body. Consider researching brand of vitamins and antioxidant supplements on the web to find some that are well absorbed by the body and change the brand you use so you don't get sick any more.

Swish your mouth out with warm salt water. Gargle if you can. Drink some orange juice and plenty of fluids.I go to bed sucking on a cough drop and that usually helps.

Take zinc tablets - 2 x 25 milligrams right away with food, and keep taking 2 a day till you feel better. This really works - Vitamin C does nothing for me.

LOTS AND LOTS of Vitamin C.
Sleep with a Humidifier on, stay warm, lots of fluids, extra sleep, and Sudafed or Tylenol cold for any symptoms. Or bypass it all and go to the Doc.
