Heb 9:15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions [that were] under the first covenant, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
THIS above passage tells you what a true believer is being FORGIVEN of. How many think they can continue to break that FIRST COVENANT?
Heb 8:8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith Yahweh, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
Heb 8:9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith Yahweh.
Heb 8:10 For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith Yahweh; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a Mighty One, and they shall be to me a people:
NOTICE who this pertains to???
Rom 9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom [pertaineth] the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service [of Yahweh], and the promises;
Rom 9:5 Whose [are] the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Messiah[came], who is over all, Yahweh blessed for ever.

Many Christians have different opinions on weather to eat pork or not. Good question! Christians actually believe in the WHOLE Bible. New and Old testament. There has to be a balance between the Old and the New. We follow the 10 commandments in the Old Testament, and follow what Jesus and the apostles tell us in the New. I hope I helped!

Christians that tell you that they don't follow the old testament anymore is not speaking for other Christians. The new testament is an enhancement of the old and the new has new meaning to a lot of the old testament's passages. The new does not replace the old so that we should disregard the old.

The Old Testament is from Genesis to Malachi. The New Testament is from Matthew to Revelation.
In traditional Christian theology, the Old Testament, from Exodus through Deuteronomy, is called the Law of Moses. It was the civil code of the nation of Israel (later Judea). Gentiles were never required to follow the Law of Moses. Gentiles who believed in the God of Israel did not follow the Jewish Law, and neither did early Christian converts to Christianity. In the first century, the Apostles convened a council in Jerusalem and ruled that Gentile converts were required to follow the laws given to Noah, but were not required to follow the laws given to Abraham or Moses. Since that time, most Christians have not followed the law. But Christians are not supposed to eat meat with blood in it, meat from a strangled animal, or meat that has been offered to idols in a pagan ceremony.

We follow both, but we interpret the Old Testament in light of Christ's teachings in the New Testament. With respect to the dietary restrictions, for instance, the Book of Acts tells us that God has lifted them. We are, therefore, not bound by them.

not all that say they are christian are, you need to read the hole bible. but as for the pork issue , in the new testament it say that it is ok, you must understand that a lot of the things god told his people to do was for health reasons. at that time there was no way to keep pork from going bad. he taught his people to stay away from blood and other bodily fluids, how to spot disease. the old testament is straight to the point. do this ,don't do this. the new testament speak to your heart not your mind.

Both. There are many sects of Christians, Some may believe differently. Usually the case is that the Christians may not be taking the words of the Bible literally. Some do and some don't.

Alright before Christ the Old Testament laws were followed. That was the way to heaven. However when Christ came He said that we are now saved by grace. So, basically Christ over-turned the old laws.
