Do you think a relationship between a christian and a Jew who is borderline athiest can work... what about if they have children??

I am more a new age ex-Jew and my husband of nearly 10 years is Catholic. He still goes to church (and I never have) and we teach our kids our individual faiths by the example we lead in our lives. I think it can absolutely work. We tried it thinking that the world is becoming more and more mingled - best for our kids to watch how interfaith works at home where we can show a fine example of tolerance and unity - you know?

Peace!

Some holy book or other says no, but from talking to people who have been in such relationships, it can work out well provided that each has realistic ideas about what the other believes, and are in fact entirely comfortable with the fact that the other believes very different things.

my dad is christian and my mum is Jewish and they are still happily married after 25 years. Every relationship has ups and downs but ever difference can just as easily be a compromise. If there is enough love and respect than you can work through anything.

they can work, but statistically interfaith marriages have a higher rate of divorce than average, and considering the average divorce rate is 50% that is not saying much.

Faith is man-God relationship and should be kept at this level,it shouldn't be used to determine who we marry or who we befriend,as long as we respect each other.
