Hello,

Well, I went to the optometrist a few weeks ago and I got 20/20 in my left eye, 20/25~ in the right(I wasn't feeling to well that day and was tired, so that may be the reason for that - the year before I had 20/20 in both). I understand the naval aviator requirement is 20/20 in both; but is that corrected or uncorrected, and how could this effect me? If I needed to be corrected to 20/20 in the right eye, will that disqualify me?

I know that pilots in all the branches of service have strict requirements. The AF from what I understand is now allowing people that have Lasik eye surgery to become pilots for certain aircraft. I would double check with a recruiter first though. Sometimes what you read in articles may not be completely correct or taken out of context. As far as the vision, get it checked again. It could very well have been a bad day for you. Also, the military will check for peripheral vison, color blindness, depth perception, etc. You can get tested for that as well.
