Interesting point...Let me view the answers..

A god is something that has power over you or something you believe is supreme over all things so in a way you make a good point. Atheists believe in science to prove things, and they rely on it to form their own beliefs about certain things such as God. They may not worship science or pray to it but it has power over them and shapes their views, beliefs, and opinion on things. So in a metaphorical way you can say science is their god.

How exactly do you get from A to B? You also believe in things which can be scientifically 'proven'... like the combustion engine, and houses. Does that mean Science is one of your Gods?

Also, what's with the "only" part? If I believe in Science alone that means God, but If I believe in science, and one other thing, like Bigfoot, then what, I have no God? Try making some sense next time.

no
Atheism, as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods[1] or rejects theism.[2] When defined more broadly, atheism is the absence of belief in deities,[3] alternatively called nontheism.[4] Although atheism is often equated with irreligion, some religious philosophies, such as secular theology and some varieties of Theravada Buddhism, also lack belief in a personal god.

Many self-described atheists are skeptical of all supernatural beings and cite a lack of empirical evidence for the existence of deities. Others argue for atheism on philosophical, social or historical grounds. Although many self-described atheists tend toward secular philosophies such as humanism[5] and naturalism,[6] there is no one ideology or set of behaviors to which all atheists adhere.[7]

The term atheism originated as a pejorative epithet applied to any person or belief in conflict with established religion.[8] With the spread of freethought, scientific skepticism, and criticism of religion, the term began to gather a more specific meaning and was sometimes used as a self-description by atheists.

No that makes science a process. Science is not an answer, science is the means of coming to a conclusion. It's not a creator. When you turned on your computer this morning, somewhere in your brain, you had to think about what you were doing. Your brain asked the question 'how do I turn on my computer'. Another part of your brain drew the theory that hitting the 'on' button would turn it 'on'. You followed through with your experiment and tested it. You came to the conclusion through the scientific method that THIS is how you turn on the computer. THAT is science. We ALL use it, EVERY day, in EVERYTHING we do. The-Scientific-method.

1. that is stereotypical. i do not BELIEVE in anything that can be scientifically proven. i do not BELIEVE at all. BELIEVING defeats the purpose of being and atheist.
2. atheist can't have a god.
3. go jump off a cliff and spare the world of another stupid person.

You are operating on the premise of there being a god. God would have to exist for one to put anything before him. You are grading us on a religious scale when we have no religion. You don't understand no religion. Here is our problem. We don't replace god with Atheism. How can we replace god when there is no god? Science is about verifiable facts. God isn't. We worship only the god/goddess of our choice in bed. hehehe

a god is an existance creator...science didn't create existance...so no.

I don't get how people cannot understand that atheists do not believe in any gods and therefore cannot have a god belief even if it is something they happen to value.(and not all atheists are big on science, just most are).

Oh, why the hell not? I personally wouldn't put it that way, but if it works for you, sure.

"The idea that God is an oversized white male with a flowing beard who sits in the sky and tallies the fall of every sparrow is ludicrous. But if by 'God' one means the set of physical laws that govern the universe, then clearly there is such a God. This God is emotionally unsatisfying... it does not make much sense to pray to the law of gravity." - Carl Sagan

Since the only thing that can possibly be proven is Truth, I would have to say that Truth is my God.

Since Faith is the only basis for your belief in God, does that make Faith your God?
