plasma vs lcd?

OK,
Now I never really thought of buying a plasma. Because of the limited life span, etc...
But I was in best buy. And I say. The vizio plazma's seem really nice. Cheap. And better picture than LCD. Even Panasonic or sony LCD.

Any thoughts?

Burning photos is a piece of the previous for Plasmas.... I also have a Hitachi Plasma and function certainly frozen via demonstrate screen for better than 10 hours yet no burn outs happen. I own all next gen consoles and that i believe Plasmas are the suited TVs to play those video games. I own a Sony liquid crystal demonstrate in my different room and the main considerable difficulty is that the refresh cases in LCDs isn't as rapid as Plasmas... This relatively is a difficulty for me as all the video games have rapid action and the element leaves a ghosting on my liquid crystal demonstrate demonstrate screen (a young blur because of the fact the television would not refresh rapid sufficient)... that's no longer a controversy for people who've performed only on LCDs, yet once I moved directly to a 40 two" Plasma, then the version irks the attention on LCDs This in no way happens on a Plasma reason the refresh time is 2ms.... besides the reality that the extra moderen LED LCDs have lots extra useful refresh fee, they are relatively costly (way above one thousand$). For a real gamer searching for a television 40" and above, I advice a Plasma in particular reason that's extra least costly and the refresh time is extra useful than LCDs. possible purchase a 40" Plasma for the fee of a smaller liquid crystal demonstrate....

Forget Plasma,life span to short and LCD from sony is taking over.

Go into a store that sells this model and compare it with the Plasma.You will never look at a Plasma again.

I just purchased this Tv and it has incredible contrast and sharpness.LCD more energy efficient also.

Plasmas are getting better, but even the best of them still fade over time. LCD's frankly last longer. Besides, lcd's look a lot better in a brightly lit room.
If you really want the best possible picture, look at a dlp tv.

If picture quality is your main concern go for a plasma. Richer colors and deeper blacks than LCDs are the norm. But burn-in can take place and lifespan is shorter.

LCDs are cheaper, and they look it. But they last longer.

I have a plasma. When it explodes I'll buy another one.

Dear As far as contrast ratio and picture quality matters only plasma stand in that catageory to deliver best picture, dispite of this we can not forget the Burn In effect, I have seen a Plasma that really cover up the burn in that is "Orion 42" Plasma

For me, the LCD was the choice hands down primarily for the durability factor and being less prone to burn in on the screen. Overall, I'm pretty rough on my things sometimes, and i wanted it to last. It may not be quite as pretty, but it's pretty enough.

if i where you i got for lcd cause plasma only last for 4 or 5 years, cause i got mine on 2003

If you have children DO NOT buy LCD. The screens are very fragile PLASTIC.When broken no warranty, no repairing. I know.
Plasma has a glass screen.
