Sh#t! i am! prove to me there is a deity out there and i'll quit my war on catholics and converting the believers.

Religion is a major let down. The only reward from worshipping this deity, whichever it may be, comes in the afterlife which you don't know even exsists. I know it's called faith, but it'd be a wasted life of pray and sacrifice only to rot in the bosom of the earth.

I am an atheist and I am not spreading any word. I leave everyone to their own decisions about religion. Most of my family is Catholic, but I do not try to sway anyone. I believe what I believe, and everyone else has the right to believe what they want to believe. Even if we all think in different ways, we can all still be full of peace.

Except for maybe Christopher Hitchens and one or two others, we don't really claim to be messiahs, just ordinary prophets. The Church of Reason is just as much as a church as the Southern Baptists -- It all depends on what you believe. Please be reasonable and join!

If reason brought fulfillment, your statement would be true.

But the atheism I know about doesn't bring fulfillment, so in that sense it doesn't reach the level of "Messiah."

There is no reason for atheism or theism. It is a belief.

Messiah is a specific term. Most atheists know what it means even if they don't believe it.

Answer: If you are going to reject a belief, don't you need to know what it is for reason sake.

Forcing beliefs down other's throats is not a quality that most Atheists have. We'll leave that to the missionaries.

Cannot compute your question.

Messiah means 'Anointed One of God' so it cannot compute with "atheist" which means, someone who believes that there is no God.

Thereby rendering the whole question 'unreasonable'!

No, we are not.

We are just people, like everyone else, and have a great deal of differences beyond lack of belief in gods.
