I don't help out somewhere else because this is a close very populated place. Also im not pretending, if someone asked me i wouldn't lie, if they had a problem with i would repect their opinion if they handled it in a repectable way.

Few Christians have answered, so I will.
It doesn't bother or shock me. You don't need a religion to have a solid moral core. Not only Christ, but Buddha, Mohammed, Bill and Ted all taught that "we should be excellent to one another".
Good for you. I'll still hope that the Holy Spirit will someday alert you to His presence, but serving your fellow man is one of the greatest things you can do in life.

As long as you're not actively sabotaging the purpose of the youth activities, I don't have a problem with that. Just out of curiosity, though, why don't you find non-religious youth groups and help out there? There are lots of places that can use someone, religious or not, who's willing to spend time with children and teenagers.
And, by the way, bless you for that.
Edit: If I understand you correctly, this is pretty much the only place within a reasonable distance where you can help with children's activities. In that case, my first answer stands - no, I have no problem with it. My last comment also stands - bless you for that.

I'm an atheist and I help out with youth stuff in my church too. I also sing in the choir.
I don't say anything to anybody about my atheism. If they ask I would be honest with them. But so far nobody has asked. I've been helping out for a long time now. People will assume you are Christian.

Ouch. (((hug))) From own journey, you would be happier in case you may step down. i might recommend the two telling all and sundry which you may't lead the club as quickly as achieveable. (the quicker you're out from under the stress the extra useful). yet another concept is to steer for a jiffy while you prepare somebody else to take over. as quickly as they are functional step down. the two skill of stepping down will require vagueness and white lies. that's extra useful to be imprecise than to lie considering you do no longer ought to upload to the tale. in case you do might desire to tell a white lie, do no longer complicated or make it longer than it should be. How might i individually take care of the situation? i might examine out the different golf equipment or extracuricular activities that conflict with the assembly time of the Christian team. i might then tell all and sundry that I had past plans to try this interest. no person thinks any different. you may stop the different team later if its no longer as relaxing as you concept. =D

I think it's wonderful that you're helping out with youth activities, but I think it would be well appreciated if you did so outside of church activities. The reason is because most church activities are based on the idea of Christianity, and therefore in the many activities, they most probably would like helpers who are well aware of what they are doing this for and are sympathetic to the cause.
Again, it's great to know you're helping out, but maybe it's better to work outside of the church. :)

Are you helping out with youth activities at a Church or in a Christ centered place. If the answer is yes:
Why are you pretending? You say you wonder how anyone would react if they found out... etc... What is the point of pretending? You are living a lie then. I don't know but isn't that kind of bad?

No, it would not bother me at all unless the reason you were volunteering was to try to encourage the youth to not believe in God. I think it would be good for you to be around those that do believe and realize for yourself why we have our faith and that we don't try to shove our christianity down your throat as a lot of people seem to think on here. It is a personal preference and while we do try to share our faith, it is totally your choice. No one can choose for you.

You have a "strong disbelief in God" and you're wondering how people will react, maybe the Holy Spirit is convicting you.

I rather you not, but I have faith in GOD. Maybe this is God's way of getting you in the church to hear his word- He works in mysterious ways. But be careful our Savior talks about the children.
