Usually just a "pad". For instance, if you needed one because you didn't have one, you would ask your friend if they had a "pad" because you "started". We'd know what you meant. But don't ask me! LOL I don't use "pads". *smile*

A "rag" is a coarser term. Kinda gross. And most of the answers that are coming from the men are not usually what WOMEN call them. Yuck!

Most commonly "the rag" women in a bad mood or with pms are said to be "on the rag"

a pad or some refer it as rag. I dont like the rag though it sounds gross!
