Jesus said that love is giving to the needy, feeding the hungry, helping the injured, etc. God does none of this. God watches the hungry starve, knowing he could do something. So if God is loving doesn't that mean the same love Jesus was talking about? If not, it is totally meaningless to call God loving.

Unfortunately, Jesus did not say what you paraphrased.

Matt 5:1-8:29 is the sermon of the Mount. Luke 6:17-49 is the sermon of the Plain. If you read both in its entirety, you will find what Jesus taught.

Answer: How do you expect to understand the words, if you don't read them?

First, you should know what is the meaning of love. Without understanding it, you will never understand what Jesud did for the needy, hungry people, etc.

Second is belief, even somebody injected something into your mind and you will not respond, then it would be useless.

Try to understand what is being said by the bible and learn to have even a little faith. Start from there and you will find the BEST ANSWER for yourself.

We were given the freedom for everything, can't you call it LOVE? if the answer is NO, then you need to think over and over again because you are walking in the wrong direction.

Learn how to make your own path to salvation, and from there you can have peace and there will be no more doubt.

we must see Him in others

God uses you and i to prove His Love to others and to each other. we choose whether we want Him to "use" us or not. He is not the cause of human misery.

i can understand why you don't believe in a Loving God if you blame Him for the atrocities that exist in this world. wud you say then a Hateful God is more believable than a Loving God or wud that be just as ridiculous?

It makes perfect sense to me that IF God exists He is Loving rather than hateful. we add to our "misery" with our disbelief in His Love for humanity.

God gave us freedom of choice. We chose to make the world the way it is today. It's nobody's fault but our own, and to blame God is ridiculous.
Besides, the world has become so hell bent on making sure that we keep God out of our business, why would he help? We kicked him out of our schools and our government. We make sure he's well hidden, so we don't "offend" anybody. You make him go away until you need help and he's just expected to be there?

God does feed the hungry, help the needy, etc. and He does it through us, His redeemed children through the redemptive love of Jesus who died for our sins.If we obeyed Him more, there would be less needy, hurting people in the world. Christians get too cloistered in their comfy churches and are not reaching out to the man on the street, the drunk, the starving, the homeless. We will answer to God someday for that.

We are to be His hands, feet, lips to share the gospel of salvation through faith in Jeus Christ, share what we have with others, food, clothing, compassion, hugs, love, visits, help pay bills if we can, comfort the grieving, weep with those who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice.

I am 82 and have had severe trials in my life and for 32 years taught an adult bible study class with emphasses on praising God "in all things"-because,as the book of Job says, every trial that comes to us (sent by satan mainly) is to have faith that God is allowing it since all things must first go through His hands before satan can mess with us (he hates us and God and tries to tear us away from trusting Him)-

I recently had occasion in a trial to began praising God and quit focusing on the problem (physical one) and meant it with alll my heart and in 2 days the situation was turned around even though at times I wept tears and ranted and raved at God but thru it I would repent and with tear filled eyes, repent and trust Him so that I could put it in His hands and LEAVE it there. Satan hates that and has real hissy fits when we trust God. Jesus died for us,not satan.

Satan keeps us wrapped up in self and the trial when instead, we are to focus on our Lord and in trusting Him, it releases Him to deal with the situation and the bible says "without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please Him"Go to church til you turn purple, feed the hungry, give to chairty and it won't please Him-WITHOUT IT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE (NOTE THAT WORD) to please Him. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God so get out those bibles. And get into a personal relationship with our Lord.

hey fellow, God doesnt watch and it is not my place to defend Him, believe me when i say that if you are looking to see of God does anything about the hunger, etc problems, then test Him and you will get results, they may not be beautiful, God uses us to reach out to this people anyways, he wont come down from heaven or drop food from the sky, if you see food drop from the sky, believe me you will run away. be realistic my bro...

The scripture says that love is; ' ... patient, love is kind and is not jealous; love does not brag and is not arrogant, does not act unbecomingly; it does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails ... (1Corinthians 13:4-8).

I am not christian but sorry I got to say this, I can understand your view of point, but it is not a helping the world by point at what other does do, I think Jesus and Christian does a lot of good deeds, it just they think that everyone has to believe in what they believe and to go to heaven. anyway, if you want to understand more about life, you should read about Buddhism.

good lucks. try to respect others, they have thier reason to be chritisan, and they do does a lot goods.
