This is much more simple than you are making it out to be. All you have to do is ask Him. No special prayers, or big fancy speeches. Just speak to Him from you heart and tell him what's on your mind and ask for forgiveness. Then you will have a fresh new plate and if you mess up and sin again, like all humans do, then just repeat step #1.

Wow you smoked pot?maybe you can go to confessions .com and actually get honest about some of the big things you've done. It's actually pointless to ask forgiveness of sins if you haven't first learned and done your A,B,Cs. because until you're saved through faith in Gods Son Jesus Christ you're not even his child and you're speaking to the wind. So if you're actually concerned about being forgiven for your sins, let us begin our lesson. We'll start with the letter A.
A. Acknowledge your a sinner and spiritual death is what you deserve for your sins.
B. Believe that God the father the creator of all things the one that allows you to take each breath sent his only begotten son to this Earth, to live a perfect life, heal the sick and offer nothing but love and compassion to be beaten, mocked, punched, spit upon, pronounced innocent yet was condemed to be nailed to a cross until he gave up the ghost, all so that he could make the ultimate payment for the sins which you and I and all the rest of mankind deserve to pay ourselves, so that he could offer all of mankind the free gift of forgiveness for all their sins past, present and future and eternal life.
C. Call upon the name of the Lord Jesus Chrit and thou shalt be saved.Just pray a simple but sincere prayer saying Lord Jesus I know I'm a sinner, and I believe you died to make payment for my sin debt and that you arose from the grave so that I may have eternal life.Lord Jesus I ask now that you would forgive all of my sins and save me.Thank you Jesus for saving me today.
If you've said that simple prayer and were sincere than I assure you that all of your sins have been forgiven, you now have eternal life and are now a child of the King. You can now consider youself a prince. Also you can never lose your salvation no matter what others may tell you, but when you mess up and smoke pot, or whatever, just tell your Father your sorry and ask him to help you not to do it again. This keeps your fellowship right with your Father, but as far as your Father and Son relationship goes that never changes.
One last very important thing, if in anyway your seeking to get to heaven trough work of your own then you have not accepted the free gift of salvation through faith in Christ and are therefore still lost. You must trust Jesus and Jesus alone and nothing else to save you.May God Bless You.

Depending on your religion, there are different ways to "make up" for your sins.
Just saying a prayer doesn't make everything OK. You need to seriously repent, be sorry for what you did and have a strong resolve to never do it again. Whether or not you are religious, if you do something wrong and say you're sorry only to do it again, then what's the point?

Not only has god already forgiven you (if you have faith)But if you have faith if Christ, then nothing you do can count as sin.
As you are no longer under the law(10 commandments) but living in Grace.
So if you put your trust is Christs payment for your sins(all of them, today, tomorrow, yesterday) then don't worry and trust in Christ to make you right with god.
That said, now live your life in a manner thats pleasing to god.

Mandee, Prayer is not a "get out of jail free" card.
God wants a loving relationship with you. He understands you and His son Jesus died to obtain your complete forgiveness.
When I reached the end of my own strength someone told me about Jesus and God's love. I was told I could talk to God like a real person, which is all prayer is. I asked God to come into my life and help me. He has and has never left me since then. I became a Christian and I have loved getting to know God. His love changed me and I began to live differently, not because I had to, but because I began to want new things. Real Christianity is getting to know God and learning to live in His love, its not about "don't do this and do do that"!!!!
Your awareness that there are things that are not right in your life is a sign that God's love is knocking at your door. If you ask Jesus to enter your life, you will never, ever be sorry.
I'll say a prayer for you and your life, tonight! God Bless You!

Just pray to God with a sincere heart, accept what Jesus did for you, and repent of your sins. (Repent means to turn away from.) Also, extend the grace God has given you to those who have sinned against you and forgive them.

Just speak from your heart. Pretend you're talking to a friend who's very upset with you for something, and you want to start your friendship over with a clean slate.
If you really mean what you say to Him, God will most certainly forgive you.

Listen to this, it will help. Trust me :
Jesus gave his life for you, for me, for everyone in order for us to be forgiven and be able to enter into Heaven. To put it this way, forgiveness is Jesus's middle name. =)
No other religion offers the same forgiveness as Christianity, or Catholism, or any other religion that believes in Jesus.
When you have done something wrong, all that Jesus wants you to do is talk to him about it. He knew that you were going to do it, before you even did. That is your free will, God can't control you. He just wants you to understand that what you did is wrong. Your holy spirit, which is inside of you, and everyone, tells you when you did something wrong, that is why we pray. We feel the need to pray when we feel guilt or even despair about something. That is our holy spirit telling us that we have done something wrong, or that something is not right ,and we need to turn to Jesus for help and/or forgiveness.
All you have to do is talk to him. As if you would be talking to anyone, your family, friends, etc. Say "I have done something bad today, that I know I should not have done. I do not feel right about it, I have ______________" Say that you are sorry, and that you need help and guidance to stay away from these "bad" things.
The cool thing about praying, is that all of us have certain "spiritual" gifts from God in order to communicate or praise him in a special way. My mom for example, can talk to God through her holy spirit in a different language. She does not know what it is, but nobody speaks it anymore, and it is just beautiful. When her holy spirit talks through her to God in this language in prayer, she can not understand what her holy spirit is saying, but she can feel it. She can tell whether it is praying, praising, or asking for help. That is one of the many gifts that you can recieve. Everyone is able to talk in this language if you just ask for recieveness of this gift and have faith it in. I am starting too as well. Each night, I sit down and try and speak to God from my heart. Sometimes I get little words, or even a sentance or two of this awesome "language" that we all have. It develops over time.
Praying is simple, just ask about anything. It doesn't have to be when you have done something wrong either. You can pray when something really awesome happens to you, or when something bad happens. You can ask for forgiveness, courage, strength, and understanding, or even wisdom for a test.

Thankfully, God is loving and merciful – eager to forgive us of our sins! 2 Peter 3:9 tells us, “…He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.” God desires to forgive us, so He provided for our forgiveness.
The only just penalty for our sins is death. The first half of Romans 6:23 declares, “For the wages of sin is death…” Eternal death is what we have earned for our sins. God, in His perfect plan, became a human being – Jesus Christ (John 1:1,14). Jesus died on the cross, taking the penalty that we deserve – death. 2 Corinthians 5:21 teaches us, “God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.” Jesus died on the cross, taking the punishment that we deserve! As God, Jesus' death provided forgiveness for the sins of the entire world. 1 John 2:2 proclaims, “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” Jesus rose from the dead, proclaiming His victory over sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:1-28). Praise God, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the second half of Romans 6:23 is true, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Do you want to have your sins forgiven? Do you have a nagging feeling of guilt that you can’t seem to get to go away? Forgiveness of your sins is available if you will place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior. Ephesians 1:7 says, “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.” Jesus paid our debt for us, so we could be forgiven. All you have to do is ask God to forgive you through Jesus, believing that Jesus died to pay for your forgiveness – and He will forgive you! John 3:16-17 contains this wonderful message, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him.”
Pray in your own words and say what you have in your heart and be sincere

If god created marijuana, why on earth would you feel compelled to beg its forgiveness for using something it created? That doesn't make any sense.
Here's a thought: if you wrong somebody, seek forgiveness from THEM, while you still can do so. Rather than worry about what some supernatural being thinks, worry about the people you actually hurt! If you're not actually hurting anybody, maybe you shouldn't worry about being forgiven for it?
