I think that has to be the biggest difference between athiests and religous people is the fact that we believe that this life has a purpose; that were here for a reason. For me its impossible to deny.

Well I do believe in an afterlife. I imagine it to be a place where a body is not necessary and our spirits exist. All the people who have gone there can communicate with one another and still see the ones left behind here on the earth. I envision these spirits to have a power to communicate with the ones still here on earth through manifestation or an occurance. It's like a two way mirror, only we here on earth don't see the mirror and most of us don't notice the communication.

Nothing. We cease to exist. Like before we were born. My reasoning: I think about what part of us would do something after we die, the soul? Seriously think about the possibility of a soul. I think it was invented. The only part of us that could "live on" would have to have something to do with the brain, but even the brain stops functioning. So we just don't exist.

I think we'll relieve as something or someone else, and what we turn into depends on how we lived our lives now. Well that what I hope anyway even though it sounds un realistics, I believe that people never actually dies.

scripture does tell us what happens, depending on your spiritual readiness ....
but it does not tell us how it feels.
that's something we'll just have to experience when our time comes (unless Jesus comes 1st!).

at the time of death...

if you are born again ....

- your body goes to the grave.
- your spirit goes to heaven to be in the presence of God...
but you do not have your glorified body yet.
- you remain there until the sound of the 7th trumpet, when Jesus raptures His saints. at that time you receive your glorified body that you will remain in for eternity.
- you meet Jesus in the clouds as well as the saints who have been raptured from the earth.
- we go with Jesus to the battle of armageddon in the valley of megiddo to fight against satan & his armies (the UN armies).
- from there we go with Jesus to Jerusalem to the mount of olives where the veil is lifted from the eyes of the Jews.
they now understand that Jesus is & was their Messiah 2000 years ago.
- those who accept Him go with the rest of the raptured into the 1000 years of peace, the "millineal reigh of Jesus Christ". scripture says we will reign with Him as priests & kings for 1000 years.
- at the end of this time period, we accompany Jesus at the Great White Throne of Judgment... the second death, although the raptured ones do not have to endure the second death.
- eternity begins on the "new heavens & the new earth". there will we forever be with the LORD.

if you are not born again .....

- your body goes to the grave,
- your spirit descends to hell.
you remain there until after the 1000 years of peace on the earth.
- then comes the Great White Throne of Judgment called the "second death". here you will account for every word out of your mouth & every action you took while alive on the earth.
it determines your degree of hell for eternity.
