You might try a rich and thick handcream that contains shea butter and glycerin. I've had the problem before and the thick cream if applied everday always clears it up. But if you let it go they will get so bad that they start bleeding. Also tell her to drink plenty of water especially now that we are going into winter. Most people don't feel as thirsty in the colder months and tend to drink even less water which causes a lot of skin problems.

Aloe Vera helps peeling skin, especially if its from a sunburn.
If the peeling is caused by an infection, you must find out what is causing the infection and get rid of it, because it may be serious.

sometimes peeling skin can be a fungus. I would try an anti-fungal cream if a really rich lotion doesn't help it. You can this in the drug store.

i play violin. i always have dry peeling skin. i always put baby lotions. something that is light. or if you go to bath and body works they have really good cream. that should help.
