I cant wrap my head around people who do that, I was wondering if there was anyone here who believes things like "AIDS is Gods punishment for being gay", or that the iraq war was punishment for whatever, and those people who stood outside the funerals with signs that say "thank god for dead soldiers", or those people who bomb abortion clinics.... anyone think any of those things are a good idea? I would really like to hear the mentality behind that.... or does anyone know a website that acutally supports that kind of stuff?

Forget about the "Aids is God's punishment for being gay" nonsense. Those people( whom I understand are one way or another all related to each other!!!) say that the war in Iraq is God's punishment for tolerating Homosexuality. One could make that argument if the war was here, in the US. But it's in Iraq! It didn't sneak up on us, rather we initiated it. So How can it be anybody's punishment? Can anyone explain it to me? Like I'm a 6 yrs old?

I don't agree with the war. But those poor boys and girls who went over there deserve our respect. Even though I think it was a lost cause before it even started, those folks who went there for the most part believed in the beginning they were helping America. And even those who realized it was a lost cause did it anyway, out of duty and pride. So no matter what, they deserve a peaceful rest and their families deserve peace. My sisters fiance is over there and he doesn't believe that it is right or moral even, but he went to see what he could do as an individual to make it safer and a better place for the Iraqis themselves. If he gets killed, even though I have protested the war, I would also proudly go to his funeral to show the respect that he did what he thought would help the most.

I think the people who protest soldiers feunerals are sick and wrong. People who bomb abortion clinics are not right. There is no excuse for either of those 2 things. However,some of the other things you mention, I'm not so sure about. I can see something behind the arguement that aids is a punnishment for being gay. The Iraq war is not a punnishment for anything. It is freeing many people who were living in bondage and fear.

Those who protest wars or military funerals lack the balls to do anything with their lives, they sit back watch tv and they make comments about everything yet know nothing of what they speak. I just reitred from the US Army in October. I have a friend who has been in Iraq since before it even started. You want to protest military funerals say they are better off dead get the hell out of my country communist bastards. In days long ago they would shoot you dead for treason against the country.

Nope sorry. GOD is not punishing the gay with Aids. God won't be punishing anyone until they have died and come before him. Aids is a consequence of living without proper boundaries.
The Iraq war was unavoidable without inviting terrorism and more violence.

Yes people should have a right to protest ( unfortunately no matter how amoral they are), but every single one of those ******* that would have the balls to do that at someones funeral should be thrown in jail and heavily fined and have their faces put in the news, so people will know who these losers are. There is no mentality behind it, you were almost right though they are definitely mental.

They are not setting a Christian example in any way, shape or form.
You can hold whatever beliefs/opinions, but those protesters have gone way over the line.

I don't think anyone who believes that protesting during a time when we should be honoring the dead is in their right mind. What ever happened to productive protesting?
I have been to multiple funerals (since the war started) and let me tell you, it's a mess to see these idiots there.

I would not be outside with a protest sign, I would be inside with an American Flag saluting the deceased soldier and telling their parents thank you for their child's sacrifice. I spent my 20 years in the service and retired shortly after Desert Storm One.
