It's just beautiful. I felt God in my life the strongest the summer after I finished 6th grade. Now in 8th grade, I have so much more work and stress, it's just so much harder to stay close to God. I have had some really inspiring moments in my life as a Christian, and I write about those in my essays for English whenever I get the chance. It helps keep God real to me, and I feel closer to him.

Here is one of my experiences:

Well, I could go on and on forever in answer to this one...I am a very lucky lady. But just for today, the Gods have blessed me with the desire NOT to smoke, with a wonderful husband, the best - best friend a chick could ever have (for 20 years so far), good health, an amazing Coven to worship Them with, and three fabulous (rarely irritating) furbabies. Oh, and the ability to try to have a human baby (hence the mention of good health...I was a bit worried). Thanks for asking this question! I love questions like this. They brighten my day.

Spartan - I feel for you, if you truly think that God hasn't done anything for you during your entire life! I hope that one day, you'll be able to identify His hand/actions in your matters of daily life.

Anyway, ... today I learnt about mercy and how to display it. It was a biblical article that I discussed with my congregation. I particularly enjoyed a point that was brought out by one of my spiritual brothers;
We briefly read Jesus' parable of the slave who owed his master 60,000,000 denarii (Matthew 18:23-35). When discussing this illustration, we brought out that the man begged his master to show mercy on him, because he had no means at all to repay this enormous debt to his master. In an act of mercy, the master forgave the man all of his debt.
Now, in return, the man went away and chased another man who owed him 100 denarii. The second man had no means to repay the first man. Rather than to extend forgiveness to his fellow man, the forgiven man had the second man put into jail.

This illustration shows that Jehovah God has forgiven us ALL our individual debts/sins by paying a very costly price (the life of his only begotten son, Jesus, which we do well to acknowledge). So then, should we not forgive other fellow men there moral debts/sins? The scriptures remind us to be forgiving our fellow neighbours up to 77 times, meaning endlessly (Matthew 18:21, 22).

Further along the study, the scripture about being concerned about someone else's mistakes may obstruct us to see our own shortcomings (Matthew 7:1-4). That is always a good scripture to remember, I think. It makes me more humble and merciful!

Gee, thanks for that question. It was great sharing with you what I have learned today!

I tell my children that every warm sunny day,
every spectacular sunset
and every healthy day is a gift from God.
My wiseguy highschool student
who loves cold weather
says as I am scraping frost off of the windows
of my car to take him to school
Aaaah today is a gift from God
