I've thought about this question since I was 6 or 7. Would anything change at all if all the Christians in the world prayed for Satan?

I've actually prayed for him a couple times when I was little, and I've stopped doing it, because the more I learn about the Bible, the more it seems like his destiny is sealed. But I still can't help thinking that it just might make a difference.

" Satan " is simply evil and " darkness ". Praying for the evil and darkness to be cast over with Love and Light so as to reveal it and tend to it . . . That's what I feel what should be prayed for.

You referred to Satan as " he ". Evil and " darkness " is genderless. Just as " God " the One is genderless. Love and evil is of no gender. Emit loving energy towards the aspects at hand. We are all one. We are of and beings of " God " the Light. Since we are souls having a human experience we are hazed around by evil, not any one being (Satan). Deal with the doings of Evil and not Satan and with that knowledge more accomplished work can be done.

"You have heard that it was said ... love your neighbor and hate your enemy... but I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your father in heaven." As long as it's done in that spirit, I can't see what it could hurt. If, as seems likely, his destiny is sealed anyway, the worst we would be doing is praying for something that ultimately didn't come to pass -- which isn't always a bad thing in itself either, as many people who have prayed for dying loved ones (for example) can attest.

The difference it can make is ultimately the biggest difference that can be made by all of our prayers -- it changes US. Anything that causes us to be more compassionate, loving, or genuinely concerned for the welfare of others (even those who hate and persecute us!) makes us more like Christ, and so can't be a bad thing.

Of course praying for Satan's restoration and turning from his evil ways would not make you a Satanist... anymore than praying for George W. Bush to amend his ways would make you a Republican. (Oops! Did I just say that? (; )

No, it wouldn't make a difference. Free will is what makes him do these things. God could control him but the God would just be a puppet master. He believes that he can only do so much no matter his powers. He can but chooses not to. Whoever said that is Satanic. Its not. Satanic is worshiping Satan not praying for him. Satanic is praying to him.

God is more powerful than Satan. Therefore he tolerates his existance because it suits a plan beyond human comprehension. Christians know enough about Gods character to trust him in the areas we cant understand like this.

Can I give you some unsolicited information? You are obviously very intelligent - can I suggest that you read 'the highly sensitive person' by elaine aaron at some time, as it gives enormously helpful perspective about some of the difficulties intelligent/sensitive people face, or may face in the future.

If the experience of being loved by his creator was not enough for satan, why would you think our prayers could do what the love of God could not?

If you want to pray there are so many whose futures are not already determined.....they would be glad for your prayers.

satan is an incurable rebel. he want what belongs to God alone, worship.

Save your pity for the spiritual dying all around you....

I think his fate is pretty much sealed, but you never know. That is an interesting thought though.

Oh, and praying FOR satan doesn't make you satanic. Praying TO him would.

I don't know. I was a Christian when I was a kid and I had a dream one night that I figured out how to destroy Satan. All that had to happen was that a Christian had to think of something positive about him. I was the one who did it, and when I did, the world began melting away.

God's answer will be the same as it is or will be to those that end up with Satan. Satan had his chance. He made his choice and I cannot force him to change his mind. Even the angels had/have free will.

I've never prayed for Satan .cos he never wanted or wants to be saved! He was one of God's best looking angels called Lucifer but remember he wanted a kingdom divided against God and to think he could have ALLpower.Satan doesn't want our prayers. He wants anyone in his kingdom who will be foolish enough to stand against God- he wants their soul.Satan is the father of all lies and darkness.
In the bkble it says he has come TO KILL STEAL AND DESTROY.There is no hope for him and in Revelation it says
God will plunge him into a pit for thousands of years and then all eternity i'm sure.

i dont think his fate is yet sealed. i think he still has a chance if only he would take it, but he never will cuz he's a sworn enemy (the thousand years at the end when he is fully unleashed bfore he is leashed again will be a proof of this).

i dont think its satanic to pray for satan, although i dont see why you would want to considering the fact that we are to take his (and his angels' (the ones on his side) ) places up in heaven.

this is a very sensitive topic bc everyone has different beliefs on the specifics. this is just my theory.
