When a person accepts the gift of Salvation, they are accepting it into their hearts and soal and lives.

When you fell head over heels in Love with your wife or husband, did you continue to see others and live exactly like you did before you met your spouse? No, you didnt, and once you fall in Love with God, nothing else will ever be the same again.

True love sticks with you, good and bad times.
TRue salvation sticks with you, good and bad times.

Q1: No.
Q2: In this case salvation cannot be "taken away" because you will not have received it in the first place. God knows our hearts. If you are truly repentant you __will not__ go on just as you did before.

Toadaly: In regards to your answer - Not that human logic can apply to God's ways, but let's just say for example:
You are walking through a store and someone is giving free samples of something and you reach out to take it - do you consider that act of accepting the item as payment for that item?

Interesting. My thought exactly. In my past.
The whole purpose of God's Word (Bible) is to allow you to live a better life. When you go against His wishes (commandments) and commit sin you open yourself up to every miriad kind of destruction. Shame and guilt being the unseen damage. STD's, jail, physical (sexual) abuse being the seen damage.
Your salvation is a free gift but God wants to see a change of heart for it to take effect. 1Peter 1:14 - As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance........ be holy in all your behavior....
I know the power of the dark forces in this world. satan knows all your weaknesses and will pull you away from the loving embrace of Jesus Christ ONLY when you allow yourself to be pulled into sin. There will be consequenses for your actions. You will be held accountable. Salvation is free, over and over and over..... a hundred times over but you will pay for the gift in your drug and alcohol abuse, lost jobs, miscarriages, divorce, STD's, fights, etc.... If you want to hear the truth about salvation I urge you to go into any Teen Challenge center anywhere in the country and sit down with any young person there and hear about salvation. The truth of God's free gift will change your life.

If you agree with the Protestants and Roman Catholics that salvation is essentially a legal aquittal of sins, then yes. But if you agree with Orthodox theologians that salvation consists of the ability to do good, then salvation is the gift of self control. That would imply that your free gift would alter your behavior to some extent.

Yes, salvation is free -- to whom faith is given! If you think you can just accept or not accept salvation, you're making a mistake right there. It's not up to you.

Salvation is half the battle. The other half is not doing the things that required salvation in the first place.

i'll describe it this way. have been we initially stored by praying, analyzing the bible or going to church? No, we are in common terms stored interior the path of the shed blood of Christ. He paid the value that shall we under no circumstances pay for our salvation. despite if, with that unfastened present of grace, we could desire to constantly under no circumstances sin so as that grace will abound much greater. Christians can fall faraway from the Lord, sure, yet no longer something can ever take carry persons out of His hand. despite if, to be faraway from the Lord is terrible, so who could prefer to be?

If you truly accept Jesus as your savior and invite him to live in your heart...you won't want to make the same mistakes . That is the way it is supposed to work. We are all human and will make mistakes, we ask for forgiveness and continue to try to act in a way that is pleasing to God. If you are not sincere in asking Jesus to forgive you of your sins and recognizing him as your savior, nothing will change for you.

Would you accept a box of healthy, guilt-free delicious chocolates, and then let the box sit on your shelf without eating the chocolates? That would be kinda stupid... : )
