Well, if this is the case then it is an amazing deception. This is a Christian viewpoint of course, however the fact that the Bible predicted events that had not happened yet in great detail and accurateness, is amazing if it was just a made up religion to keep people in check.

Also, the Bible was hand written (copied) every time a new copy was needed and the fact that it has maintained it accuracy to the extent that it has is also amazing if it was just a fabricated system to keep people in line. No other book has been maintained as well as this one has, nor do I believe it could be.

The Bible was written over 100's of years by over 40 different people and yet it still maintains its congruity and fluidity is also something that has never been done before and most likely will never be done again. That is an awful lot of people to be "in on" the conspiracy if that were true.

I would have to say that this clergy is not being logical and honest when he made these statements.

Say religion is fake. Does that mean God isn't real? He's real. The spirits (angels) what made them up? I think there are alot of people out there today that want to believe religion is made up so they won't feel guilty for not obeying. What do you think is true? Even if you don't believe in religion. Fine then don't but can you honestly say you don't ever feel the presence of God? There is a root to all the stories in religion even ancient civillizations. To me it just seems to say God has been trying to communicate with us since the begining.

NO.. I dont believe this.. cause I am a muslim.. and putting all the hype out of it.. There are scientific statements in the Quran which even if you think it was man written or made up.. these facts in the Quran werent even known by scientists 1400 years ago.. How would they, they didnt have all the knowledge back then and certainly Mohammed wasnt a learned man. I mean he never learned to read or write, the was illiterate, he only spoke the words the angel gave to him from God..and someone else a scribe or someone of his closest companion wrote the words down. He knew them by heart so well that he made sure the friend wrote it down exactly as he had them in his mind.. But still these facts blow scientists minds away now in this age.. ... I beleive only God could have sent these facts.. no man

No, that doesn't seem likely. Yes, religion was made up by people. But it doesn't make sense that religion would be invented to keep the population in control. That theory goes against everything we know about religion and ancient society. Ancient religion was frequently secret, personal, and highly sectarian, and it typically advocated disregard for earthly consequences.

this is the truth right here.
in ancient times, people told their children/friends stories on how certain things happened... an example would be the odyssey...it is a story on how odysseus went through many obstacles to get home to his wife penelope...people told others this based on how they believed in certain things themselves...just like now, everyone is different...people scattered all over the world with different beliefs which is why there are many kinds of religions.....religions are not made up...but they are stories from generation to generation...which is why they seem like they are fake because they most likely change over time because people explain it differently![like the telephone game...where there is a line of people and the first person at the very end tells the next person something and people hear it differently everytime usually and at the end it comes out to something completely different!

hope this didn't confuse you and helped you!

General religion as we know of it today is very made up. God is with you at all times and there is honestly no need for "religions". Religions want to keep you wrapped up in their churches and establishments and listening to and obeying their authority figures. You don't need them. God or Allah or whatever you call it is bigger than that. This mighty presence is with you always everywhere you go and through all things in life.

It's not that simple. Human beings have a natural predisposition to religious and magical thought. The exact form of this thought is generally fixed by instruction of the unformed, childhood mind. Successful religions are passed from generation to generation.

Well, all religions are "false" in some sense, because they try to describe something which doesn't really exist. But I think it's misleading to say that they were somehow "made up" because that implies some religions are genuine.

Of course it's true. I've been saying the same thing for years. Other people have been saying the same thing for longer. It's a great idea, controlling people using someone that sends you to hell or heaven, but people are beginning to outgrow it.
