I'm a little more partial to the English one myself.

However, you could say it depends somewhat on the situation too. For example, in a Robin Hood play or movie an English accent would be obviously more appropriate than an Irish one.

On the other hand, .at a Celtic music festival or a St. Patrick's Day party, it would be more cool to try to entertain everyone with an Irish accent.

Then there are the ever popular Beatles whose Liverpool (or Liverpudlian) accent was actually a mix of British English and Irish influences.

I like the Irish esp Dublin accent because I live there. I never really likes the British accent when I was watching English TV while living in Germany (I'm German) I always got on better with CNN than with BBC for some reason.
But my partner is from North Wales and I like his accent because it's different from the standard B.E. accent eg when the rolling Rs sneek in.
I think accents/ dialects are most fun about all languages because it would be borning if everybody talked the same way.

There are so many English accents that are SO different...Geordie, Scouse, Brummie, West Country, Cockney , Yorkshire etc...which do you mean?
The Northern Irish and Southern Irish are very different too.
Myself, I prefer the Southern Irish brogue.

Puddledu...I'm Welsh (Welsh speaking) and I hate the steryotypical, sing-songy South Wales accent...reminiscent of Gladys on Hi-de-hi...you know what I mean..."Morning campers, there's lovely, look you, isn't it, boyo"...It really grates.

I do agree about the Welsh language though...Nwydus iawn!

Cytuno gyda Afallon , I agree with afallon

I am welsh and welsh speaking and i Live in the south west sometiems classed as mid wales. In regions. Anyway Where i live in Carmarthenshire we sound nothing like that stereotypical anglophone nonsense. We welsh speaking sorry to offend but we are the true welsh people.

Ac ydy mae ein acennau ni yn eithaf nwydus, Rhywiol, Rhamantus a chyfeillgar.

But again i do stress when north walians speak Welsh they sound natural like is slightly more high pitched though. But when they sound English in my opinion they sound very Englih with a twang which is in my opinion worse than the south east walian accent.

Neither! The hottest accent is the soft lilting one which native South Walians have!! As well as being melodic and very sexy, it is also one of the world's oldest living languages. Try listening to sweet nothings whispered seductively in Welsh..... THEN tell me it isn't the hottest language!

Gladys of Hi-de-hi???? I sound NOTHING like that AND I am a natural Welsh speaker. Nwydus? Ydy. Tyrd i siarad efo fi Afallon......... fe wna i newid dy feddwl!!
