Do you suppose it will be the "Christmas to end all Christmasses" as far as sales for toy companies? [or insert other gifting holiday/birthday] You know, safe new toys to replace all the ones that were dangerous and had to be taken away?

Or is it more likely that this holiday season/next birthday will have folks stay away from toy-toys and do stuff like homemade toys, clothing, books, or other "toy" alternatives?

Just wondering what the rest of the country thinks the gift-trading will be like for the younger ones.

I work in retail and people are still buying toys like crazy. Not me...if it's made in China, I'm not buying it. I already told my and my husband's family the same thing. I'm buying mostly snacks, juice boxes, books, and clothes. My daughter loves books anyway and would rather sit on a mountain of them and play than play with toys anyway.

I was one of the lucky few who hadn't bought any of the recalled toys for Christmas, and my kids are only little, 3yo daughter and a 10mo son, so I have done the rounds, toys, clothes and books. But if I were to be doing the shopping now (I put it all on lay-buy at the July huge toy sales) I think it maybe slim pickings for a certain age group especially because the recall was from a very reputable brand and parents and kids like them. But you can definitely pick another toy to take its place, most kids have big lists of stuff they want, and most parents don't or can't afford to buy everything on them so they have plenty to choose from.
Just my opinion. :)

I am NOT buying toys this year. I love my grandchildren too much to take a chance that the toy I buy might have lead paint on it. I will be buying clothes and books this year

Parents might give kids things that will get them outside playing. There are many toys that have not been recalled I think it wil be fine

I think we're taking a trip this year instead of buying hundreds of dollars on toys. Then again, my husband has been gone for a year so I'm sure he plans to SPOIL these kids rotten!

nope if i like it for my young ones i'm going to purchase it, no longer doing something distinctive, any toy would properly be dangerous yet whilst your an attentive parent loopy stuff wont take place. if it gets recalled for something like combusting....then, it is going to easily get chucked with the garbage
