In cases today a Lazar is used to bust up the kidney stone for easy passage. But in all truth, pain has its own rewards. If giving birth was a 10 based on the pain, then yes. But to identify a difference between the types of pain endured by the human body. Its just a figure of speech. Passing a kidney stone through a small opening, is the only compare to something large passing out a small opening. The vagina is under design developed during the 9 months to help in passing the child. The urination track is not equipped to stretch without pain. But now that Lazar technology can break this large item up smaller. Its much less painful.

I have done both and I never want to do either again. Both are just as painful. When I had my daughter I had back labor, which is extremely painful. At least when giving birth, you will have a baby at the end. Not true when passing the stone. It is so painful, it is unbelievable. When I had the stones, the pain came all of a sudden and then I was in so much pain that I passed out. I begged the doctors and the nurses to knock me out, I asked Jesus to take me. I changed my religion 3 times, before the doctors end up giving me Demerol for the pain. The stone ended up being too big for me to pass, so the doctor had to surgically remove, Then it hurt every time i peed for 2 weeks. The Doctor said he had been removing stones for 25 years, but my stone was the biggest stone he ever saw, so he put it on display in his office.

I've had a 6 foot, 5 inch, 250 lb boyfriend who had a kidney stone the size of a grain of pepper, and he was on the floor crying! I'm going to give birth in about a month, and am not looking forward to it.

I've never had a kidney stone, but have given birth, and something tells me the kidney stone probably hurts more. Giving birth wasn't that painful for me. It was all natural, no drugs.

Good luck!

Yes you can believe it. My brother was in the hospital with one and he had to be a lot of pain medication for the pain. It is worse for a male to pass a kidney stone then for a female. Although it is still pain-full for a female to. And yes I guess you can compare it to giving birth. I hope you never have to find out. And I hope I don't either.

I have done both and I would have to say that giving birth is more painful, but kidney stones are not far behind for the worst pain.

My Dad passed a kidney stone earlier this year, the pain was so bad he passed out and from what he can recall it was pretty bad but the passing out made him forget most of it. Pretty amazing I rekon

My mom had 8 babies and later in life a serious problem with kidney stones. The stones were worse. She had two surgeries for kidney stones because they wouldn't pass.
