I usually use a cream cheese base, toppings combination of any of the following salami. ham, chicken (BBQ), turkey, finely chopped tomato with the juice squeezed out, finely chopped onion, sliced cheese (cut to fit) and a few sprouts (i know that sounds wierd)
Put the cream cheese on first then meat, then a little more cream cheese on the meat, then put on loose ingredients (will stick to the cream cheese) Top with a few sprouts (just a tiny few).
My secret is to drizzle a tiny amount of any of the following on the top. Sweet Chilli Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Sweet Soy or experiment with any of your favourite sauces.
Dont put on too much as you dont want it running everywhere.
I have had great success at parties with these.
Cheers

I like swiss cheese with salami - you could slice it and then cut it to fit...the cheese might even be heavy enough to hold a folded piece of salami. Or cream cheese is always good.

I don't know about salami, but my dad put swiss cheese and turkey on it and it was really good. If you really want to go the extra mile, find some sort of spread to put on it, too. :-)

The possibilities are endless! Marinate thin slices of cucumber, tomato, and onion in light olive oil with garlic powder and crushed basil added. Drain and stack veggies on bread. Spread pimento cheese on bread and add a slice of sweet apple or pear. Make little grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches. Spread bread with hummus and add alfalfa sprouts and sunflower seeds. Make little tuna salad sandwiches. Slice fully cooked smoked sausages, cook them in apple jelly until jelly is all melted and boiling. Put them on the olive bread with a little of the sauce. Spread the bread with deviled egg salad. Spread cream cheese on bread. Mash chick peas, black-eyed peas, or pinto beans, add hot sauce, spread over the cream cheese, and add a small slice of sweet pepper.
