God is from the Germanic Gott, or "the one invoked."
YHVH is the Hebrew tetragrammaton, the name of God.
Allah is an Arabic word, derived from "Al Ilyah" (or "the God.")
All refer to the same deity. Jews and Christians speaking Arabic use the same word Muslims do.

You're right about that one difference. Allah didn't have a son, and also he doesn't love anyone but himself. He's a selfish jerk who, I might add, wasn't even original. "Allah" was derived from a moon god worshipped by the Muslim's predacessors. Jehovah, on the other hand, created the universe, including mankind, has total and complete power over everything, and loves His creations enough that he sent his only son, Jesus Christ, a member of the Trinity, to die for our sins so we could go to Heaven, where we don't deserve to go instead of the eternal Hell we deserve. Overall, the biggest difference between the two is that Jehovah is the one true God and exists, while Allah is simply a figment of some "philosopher's" imagination. People only claim that they are both the same as a blasphemous lie in an attempt to create a false peace or to ignore that they know the truth but won't accept it. By trying to combine the two, they are trying to create their own way to Heaven. This is like trying to cross a raging river by throwing stones in it and hoping they'll become a bridge, while there's already a single, solid bridge across, but you have to accept that you're wrong to cross it. Since people always want to be right, they'll just keep throwing stones in that get washed away by the river. BTW, the God of the Jews and the God of the Christians IS the same God. The "Bible" of the Jews is, in fact, mostly just the old testament of the Bible of the Christians. Jews did not accept God's son when He came mostly out of pride and arrogance, but Jesus was the Son of God, culmination of Biblical prophecy, and the Jewish Messiah, even if they didn't accept him.

Yahweh is the God of Israel and Christians. It is spelled YHVH which was falsely interpreted by early scholars to be pronounced and anglicized as Jehovah (they thought Y was pronounced J and V pronounced V instead of W).
I believe but I doubt that cross faith questions can easily be "known", that Allah and Yahweh are the same being. Muslims believe that Abraham was a prophet of Allah and Jews feel he was a prophet of Yahweh, for example, so to me they are all the same deity. The three faiths choose to interpret his manifestations, motives and nature differntly and so would feel that they are different but I'm fairly sure the origin is the same. To Brits, Benedict Arnold is a traitor who rebelled against King George and then later saw the error of his ways and returned to the fold. To Americans he is also a traitor for exactly the opposite reasons - same guy.
I read a lot. I like John Shelby Spong and Domonic Crossan for their contextualization of God, putting the New Testament into Hebrew context.

Allah can lie: Yahweh Can NOT lie
Allah is a god of religion: Yahweh is the God of relationship.
Allah commands murder of infidels: Yahweh Forbids murder of anyone
Allah permits 4 wives; Yahweh forbids adultery.
Allah can be capricious and unknowable; Yahweh is trustworthy, does not change, and honors His Word above His Name.
Allah is a god of hate; Yahweh is the God of Love.
Allah might give salvation by your works; Yahweh offers FREE salvation through the sacrifice of His only begottten Son Yeshua the Messiah,
How can they be the same?
Would you like to compare Mohammed with Yeshua?

Allah, Elohim, El, Lord, God, Adonay, Jesus, Zeus, ETC. ETC. ALL are DEMONS according the very definitions. Yahweh is the Almighty. He Delegated authority to Yahshua.
Interesting points on this partiuclar subject at www.yahweh.com when you come to site look for option box which say -Please make your selection- then read article called "who is lord god". I certainly do not agree with much of what they say or teach, however, on this subject, it may help you understand the differences, IF you are actually interested.

the difference is the human behind the deception.... every god ever heard of is nothing more than a human..... that is why all religions are designed to produce slavery... and blindness and ignorance... and seek to contain the information being heard from the people... because if the religious humans sought the information and truth coming from outside religion they might wake up from their fog...

Those who say Allah is the same as the God of the Bible are simply ignorant of both the Scripture and what the Quran teaches.
The Quran says: "God has no Son" and forces its adherents to believe God has no son, thus directly attempting to nullify the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Quran denies also that Jesus is the Christ/Messiah.
The Scripture says explicitly: "Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is anti-Christ, that denies the Father and the Son. HE THAT DENIES THE SON, THE SAME HAS NOT THE FATHER". (I John 2:22)
Don't be deceived. The Islamic god is totally different than the God of Jesus Christ.
In fact, Jesus said....your salvation depends on you BECOMING A SON OF GOD.....by being born OF GOD.
"But as many as received him (Jesus), TO THEM he gave the power to become the Sons of God, even to them that believe in his name, which were born.... not of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but were born of God"- (John 1:12)

God and YHWH( Jehovah) are one in the same, Allah is a false god. Allah was a moon god, one out of a plethora of gods that Mohammed chose to be his monotheistic god.
There is no God but Jehovah, and Jesus Christ is his son.

One is worth more than the others in Scrabble, I know that. ;)
Ok, seriously...my understanding is that they are the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim names for the same Abrahamic god.
