I'm a Christian, however, I think I don't have a strong belief in God. Yesterday, I told my religious teacher about it, and he asked me a question : "Define Christianity ? If you can answer that question, you should understand more about yourself."
Can you be in details ? Because I don't want just a superficial answer, what I'm looking for is a serious and straight-forward answer.

I actually have an answer, but I want to ask you guys for your opinions. If you were me, how would you answer it ?

P.S. : Can you be specific and details ? 'Cause I'm looking for a serious and straight-forward answers, so please be specific.

I think they wanted you to define it for yourself. By asking us you are only repeating information... you need to figure out what your belief is, and we can't make that decision for you.

So what do you think it is?

EDIT:
Google "Nicene Creed" for a good summary, and see where you stand on it.

A Christian is a follower of Christ. A Christian believes that Jesus lived, died and rose from the dead. As a Christian, you should have a close and personal relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. A Christian strives in their life to live like Jesus did but accepts that as a human, we all sin and we need God's love and forgiveness to enter Heaven.

listen im not a Christian but half of the answers here are just wrong... you have many Christian faiths... you just can sum it up with the trinity or jesus was god on earth.. Christianity is the message of god thu jesus his prophet simple as that... but how do you refine being a Christian.. well read the book.. (depending on testimate) instead of playing world of warcraft and then you will have an understanding if you mesh with what has been said and written.. dont just take the word of others .. reading many different perspectives of certain faiths will give you your answer..

if you really want to know.. its the 10 commandments.. thats it.. simply follow those and you will be a good Christian...

a Better question to ask, and ask yourself what is the reason you want to be a Christian? alot of times lack of faith is because you want to be a christian for all the wrong reasons, are you doing it because you thin k life will be trouble free or are you because you want to know God, If you are becoming a Christian in hopes of a trouble free life, then you will find out right away troubles will be the same if not worse and your faith will fall easy.
If you are doing it to know God well, faith does not come without effort you must read and study more upon the holy book. "the bible" but Also you must talk to others of faith, not to be preached at but encouraged by. hope this helped.

Do you believe John 3:16. That is what Christianity is all about. To acknowledge Jesus as God, and accept His gift of mercy and grace.

He means that the way you define Christianity will tell you about yourself. If I define Christianity for you, it will tell you about me.
