Science teaches abiogenesis. But they say we have no idea how it happened but we know it did. Atheists accept this. When asked questions about something in the Bible and we say we don't know how it happened but we know it did. We are ridiculed. Is there really any difference between the two positions?

Abiogenesis is a theory. It will be brought under scrutiny (and the scrutiny welcomed) by many scientists to come. And it may survive as a theory, and it may not.
We don't say "we don't know how it happened, but it's a fact", reputable science says "we don't know how it happened, but here's our best theory until we prove otherwise". Then we roll up our sleeves and begin doing just that. The suppression of dissenting (but potentially true) information is the closest thing to a sin in the science community.
There is no faith involved.
Religion, on the other hand, not only declines to scrutinize itself, but has been known to suppress dissenting information for centuries. Just as Galileo, Galen, and Copernicous, to name a few. And rather than appreciate the quest for truth, the religious community supports those who gag anything contrary to their dogma. The thumbs down that honest dissenters (the wisecrackers deserve them) get in this section are more evidence of the same attitude.
In fact, I predict that you will not choose the person who answers this question the best, but will instead choose the person who agrees with you the most.

There is a difference, in the fact that science teaches you to question things, and in religion, you go to hell for questioning anything. and science calls things hypothesis' or theories or laws. I mean, even gravity is a "theory".
Science isnt just random whimsy. Not to be offensive, but christianity and the bible is random whimsy. It's a book that has absolutely no corraborating evidence that might have been written 500 years ago by a group of 15 year olds who thought it would be funny to screw with people's heads...

everything emits information about itself... these emitances build up ... as in energy... and reacts and changes it's environment .. this is called evolution... the bible thumpers don't know any more than anyone else.. they just like preaching they know... it's like a scientist saying... the apple is red... and the christians says why.. the scientist say I don't know... but when science says I dont know they mean I don't know yet... christians say don't bother finding out.. god made it that way... The evidence against your god is building.... in the end truth will find it's way past your lies and ignorance.

There is a world of difference. We state, factually and honestly, we do not know. You invent a fairy tale and state, with a straight face, "god is mysterious, so I don't know how he did it". You are not saying you don't you, but falling back on "gawddidit". Not the same at all. Our statement means there is more to learn. Yours is a statement of finality and an excuse for ignorance.

I think that science only proves that history did happen and backs up the Biblical account. Like Noah and the Flood,Moses and the parting of the Red Sea,Abraham,the Prophets. I do not think Man has begun to understand the connections,their too busy trying to make them disprove each other.
