I took it for six months and lost about 50 pounds (although I also gained a lot of muscle because I was walking 8 miles a day from all the energy the medicine gave me).

However, my body got used to it and it stopped working. I stopped being able to control my hunger and no longer had the energy to walk 8 miles a day. Needless to say I gained all the weight back over the next year and unfortunately have gained 40 more on top of that.

So.. phentermine is great to help get you started but it is not going to work forever and you will have to have the willpower to eat right and exercise once it stops working or you'll just gain all the weight back and then some.

Good luck to you. I hope that you are a stronger person than I am and are able to maintain your weight loss when you stop taking the drug.

(p.s. I tried a couple of years later to start taking the phentermine again and it did not work as well as it did the first time. So.. as the country song goes "this is your one chance, Fancy. Don't let me down." lol. Seriously though, I really do wish you the best of luck with it.)

When I was on phen I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. But I had to stop it because of the side effects:(
Switched to acomplia after I quit phen.
happy not to have any sides with acomplia so far.
I am losing a pound or few every week.
It is very popular in UK, Germany and many other countries worldwide. Not so much in the US yet.
This is good site for Acomplia info if anyone's interested
