I lost 28 pounds in six weeks on atkins and probably could have lost more if I'd worked out at the same time.
And by the way atkins is not a health hazard, if done properly it's very healthy. I've never felt better than when doing atkins.
(Fire up the barbee! Researchers from Duke University say that six months on the high-fat, low-carbohydrate Atkins Diet adds up to more weight loss and better cholesterol than a low-fat, high-carbohydrate diet. )
Check out the November 12 issue of First magazine. The have a very interesting weight loss article on the Celebrity Fit Club.
(We've all heard the old adge that it's unhealthy to lose more than two pounds a week. Not so, contends Ian Smith M.D, After researching the matter. I realized that there is no scientific reason behind it at all! Turns out doctors just assumed that anyone losing faster than that must be doing it in an unhealthy way.)

I can't believe you people are recommending starvation. I'm sorry but you can't do this. It is so unhealthy and can really screw up your metabolism. When you starve yourself, you train your body to survive without food and everything slows down. Then, you go back to eating normal again and your body doesn't know what to do with the extra calories and guess what? It turns it into fat. Just eat sensibly. Protein with every meal. No sugar. You need to come up with a diet you can eat everyday because any type of other diet is eventually going to fail. You are not going to lose 40 lbs. by Christmas unless you do something destructive. I think you need to figure out another way to deal with stress too. Stress isn't going away. It will come back in some other form and you need to find a different way to deal with it. There are no quick fixes. Weight watchers has an excellent program to help you eat better. Find your local chapter and join.

Jogging works. It is easy and get your heart rate up and speed up your metabolism. Once you start jogging everyday eat your meals everyday around the same time.
If you crave foods that are sweet eat fruit
If you are very hungry and it not 20 minutes within your eating time just take a nap and miss that meal try not to do that a lot. It will slow down your metabolism.
Get a lot of sleep and least 7 hours no more than 10.
I am now using this method. I started 6 weeks ago and lost 31 pounds. I wasn't that overweight so it should work faster for you.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

2 months is not enough time to lose that much weight in a healthy way. I suggest joining weight watcher or doing south beach and making sure you ride your bike, go to the YMCA and walk as much as possible for the summer. Regardless of whether or not you will lose 40lbs by the end of the 2 months, you will see a big change in your body and feel better.... also remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so the more muscle you build from regular exercise is going to tone you up and make you look thinner and healthier even if the scale isn't changing drastically. Be healthy and smart about weight lose or else you're going to gain it all back sweetheart...OK? best of luck!

the weird thing is, its easier to drop large amounts of weight than small amounts, hence the last five pound problem we all have...let that encourage you!
Eat a very low calorie diet. The calories you do consume need to be healthy, fresh fruits/veggies, broth soups, lean meats, whole grains, etc. Don't smoke or consume any alcohol. Workout on a daily basis. Incorporate extra work (like taking stairs or walking while you talk on the phone) in ADDITION to the working out. Try not to live a stressful life, because stress can halt weight loss. Just take care of your body. Good lucki!

Eat balanced, no more Alcohol, cigarrets or things like that. Do exercise at least for one hour in the morning and for God Sake DON'T DO RIDICULOUS DIETS!!
Fact is if you skip food your body turns the sugar in your blood into fat so don't even think about it. You can also try self-suggestion, if your mind thinks you are losing weight you'll lose that weight faster.

Ok don't starve yourself, that is a great way to end up in the hospital and do damage to your body. Start by changing your diet and getting together an exercise plan, healthy eating and exercise is the BEST way for your body to lose weight and get fit.

My girlfriend lost weight real fast.
It turned out she wasn't eating enough.
If you don't eat enough, or improperly, your bodies metabolism becomes unbalanced and it tries to horde (store) what little calories and fat it receives. (She used to eat very little. Usually one meal a day).
It turns out that if you eat 6 small and healthy meals a day, rather than a single or a few large meals, your body will be more capable of processing the fat and calories your eating.
You're weight will literally fall off.
FYI: My girl friend is now complaining that none of her clothes fit her. Not even the jeans she was saving just in case she lost weight.

Lpsing this much in 2 months is UNHEALTHY. I would suggest 45 minutes exercise daily and no sugary foods. Also try eating 5 small meals instead of 3 larger ones per day. GOOD LUCK!
