it isn't healthy at all, dogs carry a great multitude of different kinds of bacteria in thier mouths. It is a good way to get the wound infected.

Well, I know someone who's done it. It was an old wife's tale back in the day, it was thought that since dogs licked their own wounds that it probably was helpful for people too. They thought this in part cause dog's saliva was considered anticeptic, considered cleaner than a human's mouth. Yuck!! I wouldn't do it....that's for sure.

No. Contrary to popular belief, a dog's mouth is not cleaner than a human's. It's full of bacteria, most of which is not contagious to humans, but definitely not good for you.

I don't know but they say a dog's saliva can have amazing healing powers, This is just what I've heard.
