Because sports are more interesting and they think that when a woman is talking to them during sports on tv, it's usually to tell them to do something, or to tell them one of their many faults...so they selectively tune women out. They figure they'll hear whatever they were ignoring once the sports are over, or during commericials. After all, men think(know) women remember everything right?

I can hear just fine when sports are on. But ask yourself this: Can I hear men when im watching a girl show or what ever it is that you watch on TV that you are obsessed with?

Because they always talk about stuff we don't want to hear about and we choose not to hear. We are focussed on hearing and seeing what is going on in the game. Best bet for you, accept this and wait for a commercial.
Furthermore, look at the responses the women are coming up with...Male bashing...why would we want to listen!!!

They aren't listening. They hear the women, they just block the voices out and listen to what is being said on the tv. It happens ALL THE TIME!!!

They simply arent listening. Its sad but sports are important. Sometimes I wonder why they don't just marry an idiot box..
I'd try asking them why they don't listen when your talking, and say that the tv may be interesting but it can't cook and clean and love you back.

Same phenomenon when a child watches cartoons or at a PlayStation game. They go into this bizarre fascination that they are able to tune out all external stimuli! Weird. My mom could do it with soap operas so its both genders.

Im listening cause I dont watch any sports except paintballing, pro marathoning and surfing, and I still tune in and out of those.

Real answer? Because women are far more advanced than men and can do more than one thing at a time efficiently and easily, whereas guys can only half master one thing at a time.
