THE BLOOD-SLICKED HIGHWAY
Who's cooking at the stake tonight?
Is it the black, yellow, the red or the white?
The majority's meat is the minority's poison
So you keep your head down and run with the
boys on
A phalanx of phallic power and contempt
There are berries for the bullies and the
thoroughbred turkeys
Who won't mourn your loss as they rule in your
name
You know it mocks sense but you shut your face

I spy love but it's highly debatable
I hear lies and they're inescapable
Fire, fire, toil and trouble
The wall is down now watch that rubble burn
Watch that rubble burn

There's a blood red lining to every lie
A calamity in every alleyway!
I'm an uneasy rider on this blood-slicked highway
There ain't one way to cook a goose
There ain't one way to tie a noose!

I spy love but it's highly debatable

The wall is down now watch that rubble burn

Our planet will certainly come to an end someday. That day could be a billion years from now or it could be much sooner. It has little to do with religion but everything to do with nature and how we treat the environment. There will always be religion of some sort as long as there are unanswered questions and a longing for something greater than ourselves. I believe religion will evolve and change as we learn new information and as things are revealed to us as we are ready to hear them. These revelations may come from science or from spirituality. But surely religion will not fade away and to worry about an end in fire and death and destruction I think is counterproductive (maybe even a sin).

* In actuality, if you peruse the history books, you'll find that religion is the CAUSE of fire, death, and destruction through the ages. It just seems to make it all the stronger.

Well, I guess we know your take.

It is likely to fade away. After all, when is the last time you saw the church and community take action against their members that broke the covenants of the church? Not since the 1800s most recently.

Your question rhymes, so I'm assuming these are song lyrics. Last time you posted lyrics, I didn't recognize the reference. Sorry about that. I don't recognize this either. Again, my apologies.

But to answer the question, my vote is on "death and destruction."

Religion will only fade away if we manage to discover the answers to all life's mysteries.
