Now would be a great time to do the transition. The longer you wait, the more difficult it will become. Making the transition at both places at the same time is a fantastic idea. As long as you ease him into and take it slow while being very paitient, he should not be overwhelmed. Prehaps for the first few nights or weeks, you could try sitting in his room by his bed and wait with im until he falls asleep then slowly each night back away from his bed a foot or two. This may take a while, but it will be worth it in the end, and keep your little man from being scared. Good luck!

First off, skip the toddler bed and buy a twin. You can also get a bed rail (cheap) so he doesn't roll out. It'll save you money because they quickly grow out of that little race-car bed!:)
I would also transition him at the same time at both homes so he doesn't get confused. You sound like you've got this thing covered! Your a good mom - you'll both be fine!!:)
If he doesn't take to the big boy bed well, don't pressure him, let him go back to his crib but leave the bed in his room so when he's ready....he'll show interest.

Good Luck!!!!:)

it is a great time to put him in a big boy bed... take him shopping and let him pick out sheets and pillow cases, and a comforter... and talk it up to him.
If you are afraid he will fall out of the bed, put some piilows on the floor or a rail on the side.
I always put up a baby gate at the door so that if they got out of bed, they could not wonder the house and get into things.
Good luck!

As soon as they can climb out of their crib on their own they should be moved over to a toddler bed for saftey purposes. Both of my kids were moved to toddler beds by the time they turned 2. I was lucky and neither one of them showed interest in climbing out on their own. Your son will do fine. :)

I started by using my son's bed for naps. I didn't get a toddler bed, though. I just have a regular twin bed with a guard that slips between the mattresses. After a couple of weeks with the naps we started putting him in his bed for bedtime.

My pediatrician said they recommend leaving young children in their cribs until age 3. With that said... My daughter was climbing out of her crib at 16 months with the skill and agility of a rock climber.... We waited as long as we could, but it made me nervous leaving her in the crib due to the fact she could fall from the top... We ended up moving her around 2.5.

Also, as far as letting him sleep with you until he falls asleep... We did this and now at 3.5 we are still having to do this. I would recommend working on a way to get him to fall asleep on his own if you want to have any kind of personal time with your husband... I wish I could go back and do this, it only gets harder as they get older...

I would skip the toddler bed and put him right into a twin size bed with guards. Saves you money in the end.

My 5yr old brother has a bed that looks like a car. And wehn my mom puts him to bed she says: time to go to sleep, and pretend your a race car driver, and he falls asleep.

well we did the transition with my daughter when she was 2 and a half, and it was the most exciting thing for her.she got all this new freedom, and loves it. as long as your really excited and make a big deal out of it, he should have no problem. good luck!
