I have a cold sore and it is very sore, the corner of my mouth is swollen and like a hard knot, and it is very painful, i already took some ibuprofen but is there anything i can do to heal this quickly.. thanks for all the answers... oh is it supposed to be swollen around the corner of my mouth and hard and is it supposed to hurt near my sinuses, i have never had a cold sore i am trying to find out... any and all answers and info welcome...

Like a hard knot? Is the sore open or closed? This is important.
There's a topical treatment called abreva that says it lessens the severity and speeds healing, but that only works if you have an open sore.
If it's not an open sore, more like a hard knot, you need to see the dr. Sounds more like a boil or something, needs medication.

L-Lyosine by nature's bounty (or any other brand of vitamin suppliments) works great. Works as a preventative also.

vitamin E, split open the gel cap and apply to you sore
