His well-to-do friends refuse to attend, begging off with all sorts of excuses, so the man sends his servants out into the highway to invite beggars to his feast.
The story does have another chapter, however. The servants are told to offer each beggar a clean wedding garment, so they will feel and look respectable at his feast.
But one guy, wanting to show his spite, told them where they could shove their clean white robe. "They told me to come as I am," he shouted, "and now they can take me just as I am, or throw me out!"
So, they threw him out.
You will find this story in Matthew 22:2-14.
My question-
What do you think the Lord was trying to teach with this parable?

He was teaching us that the only way, to the Feast is invitation only (accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior)And,receiving the' Robe of Righteous' from Jesus as He paid our ransom.,and that white Robe is the only acceptable attire at the Supper.

The man was a sinner who did not believe . His filthy clothes were his sins. Since he was not washed in the blood (no wedding garment) he could not come into the presence of God. As verse 14 says he was called but not chosen. Now with that said we must not only be called and chosen but faithful as well

Matthew 22:14 For many are called, but few are chosen.

Revelation 17:14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.

For his crime against the king, the improperly attired guest was thrown out into the darkness. For their crimes against God, there will be many who will be consigned to the darkness. That darkness is existence without God for eternity. Christ concludes the parable with the sad fact: “For many are invited, but few are chosen.” This deals with salvation and its offer being available to everyone, but only a few accepting it.

Put on the wedding garment that God has provided to you. That garment is the salvation found in Jesus Christ by His atoning death on the cross for your sin. We are all sinners (see Romans 3:23), and “the wages of sin is death” (see Romans 6:23). Physical death for all mankind because of the sin of Adam, which we all inherit (see Hebrews 9:27). Spiritual death which is eternal separation from God (see Revelation 20:14), and functional death for the Christian living with unconfessed sin in their life, preventing them from serving God (see Revelation 3:1).

With this garment, with Christ as your Lord and Savior, you will be attending the greatest wedding feast of all time and eternity - the wedding supper of the Lamb (Christ) mentioned in Revelation 19:7-9. The Parable of the Wedding Feast was a direct warning and pronouncement of condemnation on the Pharisees. The Parable of the Wedding Feast is also a message to us, to make sure we are relying on God’s provision of salvation, not our own good works or religious service.

The first part speaks about the Lord's call on these people's lives and they made excuses why they couldn't go. This is also saying these people did not have time to get saved, seek the Lord, or to pray or build a relationship with the Lord. They did not turn from their sin. So the Lord began to pick other people who came and did receive the Lord's call.
The one who was not in wedding clothes was picked/invited, but he was unclean in heart.

You said it in your "paraphrasing." lol Out of spite he didn't want to wear the wedding clothes offered to him. Basically, the wedding clothes symbolize the righteousness we need to enter God's kingdom. The acceptance we gain with God through Christ. So, what this man was saying is that he should be good enough to enter the kingdom without Christ's sacrifice. The wedding clothes in the parable are the equal of our acceptance of Christ paying for our sins.

Its obvious your a writer of your own......

Anyway Jesus was saying least we put on our wedding garment ( CHRIST ) we will not be allowed to the wedding of His Bride............

We by all means must put on CHRIST.........for He is our only salvation and enterence ( for HE is THE DOOR )......
its equates to the parable of the virgins....there were 5 foolish and 5 wise....THEY ALL waited for the Bridegroom....but only
5 took oil with thier lamps the 5 foolish took thier lamps but no oil .........we have two classes today thats professing to be the Bride of Christ, the Bible speaks there will be two classes the wise virgins, the foolish virgins. The women continue on their way of doing, the men continue in their way of doing. The wise and foolish [ both are invited ] they both had vessels, they both were virgins believers. They both had vessels. We cannot outsmart the devil,JESUS knew this ,so He sent us the Holy Ghost, the church does not claim to be smart, but they just claim to believe.Jesus sent the Holy Ghost which is himself to get in to those thats behind the worst like Abrahams group. To confirm the Word before them,to show that He is still the Word.Fire in the confirmation of the Light coming from the Word. The smart virgin is the wise virgin had oil in her lamp, and trimmed her lamp and lit it.God is the Word. The oil is the Spirit, the Fire is the Gospel Light on that oil.God said so,so thats the vessel, the oil is in the vessel, and the fire, burning it,shows its reflection the Light of the Word said,Thats the reflection the wise virgins could do that.Foolish virgins, was the outside, had no oil and they couldn't reflect nothing but just their church and their denomination.God said,My Word is Spirit. The true Bride must be unified in the Word, remember it,She is a part of Christ, she has to be the Word of Christ. In order to be the Word of Christ, you have to be baptized into Christ, and when you're in Christ, you believe Christ and Christ is the Word. The Bride must be unified together by the Word. And MY SHEEP HEAR MY VOICE and this is His voice in printed word,Unified tigether by the Word, she makes herself ready

This is what we must do PUT ON CHRIST ( THE WORD OF GOD ).......THATS OUT GARMENT !!! ONLY WAY TO GET IN THE PARTY ( HEAVEN ) !!!!!!!

The disciples have been beginning off to understand Jesus yet Mary already believed in him. In John's gospel he relates in common terms 7 Miracles and calls them works or signs and symptoms. This wedding ceremony grew to become into additionally a demonstration of alternative weddings - of God with humanity. Jesus says his time had no longer yet come, his actual hour would be that of his pastime and Resurrection. The water that Jesus used to alter into wine grew to become into the water the Jews used for purification, by changing this Jesus signified that actual faith should not be puzzled with the phobia of sin and obsession with averting defilement.Jesus manifested his glory to those beginning off to discover him and Mary intervened to hasten the beginnings of the Gospel and her final words are ' Do despite he tells you'. This we too could desire to do. God bless

Rev 6:11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they [were], should be fulfilled.
Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
Rev 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The Gospel was first preached to the Jews, but since so many of them hardened their hearts to it, it was offered to the Gentiles. I also believe the scripture in Matthew refers to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb in Revelation 19:6-9. Jesus wants all people to accept His atonement for the forgiveness of sins, and He wants all of us who love Him to be ready for His return. God bless you!!!
