How do I get my mom to believe Im really sick? She keeps saying I need to save my days, (at my school we only get 10 sick days) bcuz my aunt has had surgery on her leg and she might lose her foot, but I only used one day so far. I AM sick, and I dont want to be. (Oh, and I CAN spell, I just dont feel like it) To tell u the truth, I like school. It's the place to scialize, learn, have some fun with friends, etc. But, bcuz of my aunt, my mom wants me to save my days in case we have to travel (she lives in a diff. state), but I just need a couple days (the weekend + 1 day) to get everything together and relax my throat, bcuz at school, u have to talk if the teacher calls on u, and my throat hurts so bad its hard to talk. My temp. is 99.0, and my mom sez tht that isnt a fvr. U can be sick without a fvr, u no. Cuz I am. I just need to no how to get my mom to REALLY believe me, cuz I just need 1 Day!! Plz dnt answer me w/"go to schl, dnt b-leeve u" or "make urself puke".Tks 4 whoevr believes

I dont get election day off...hmm..thats so not fair!! But, on the plus side, my school gets out if there is one inch of snow, and its one month til december....hehe..;)

I can understand your mom's concern, but I think it's pretty hard hearted of her not to believe you don't feel well....unless you have lied to her in the past about being sick, in which case, you reap what you sew.
If you really don't feel well and she forces you to go to school, then enlist the help of your school nurse...she can always call your mom and tell her to come and take you home.

A sore throat is not really a reason to stay home from school unless it is strep or your glands are really swollen. How long has this been going on and have you been to the doctor? It always helps when a doctor says you should stay home then just yourself. My mom used to be the same way. She would actually get mad at me if I threw up. I would suggest if you aren't feeling well to ask your mom to take you to an immediate care this weekend or to your doctor on monday. You could have strep and the school won't want you there if you truly are sick. By the way, if you aren't feeling well now, you should be in bed, not on the computer. Your mom will have a much different opinion about your illness if she sees you lying in bed resting. I believe you and I'm sorry your mom is tough on you. I survived my mom's "tough love" and you will too.

Well you get two days this weekend and you get off Tuesday for election day, so maybe you can see if that helps before wasting days.
Try some of the spray that helps with a sore throat. Just be sure to get the sprayer far back in your mouth or it will spray in your mouth instead of your throat.
Feel lucky. I only get 5 sick days in my school system.

First lets take a breath!!! but if its your mom's sister she is worried and scared .. i knw i would be
but
she needs to understand how you feel...now this is me but if i dont feel good and my dad wont let me stay home.. i just dont go to school... i just leave untill i know my dad isnt home then come back home and i dont have to worry cuz he dosent get home till after i usaly get home and they call the house so i just delete that message and have a older friend call me in...
But you know depends on your mom and her job and if she stays home or not
And 99 is a kinda high fever...but i have had worse and made to go to school and almost collapesed cuz i didnt feel good but i had headakes and just lightheadedness but he didnt belive me so i was forced to go to school
... you know at school you can prob always go into the nurses office and let them know..mybe have another family member come pick you up...most nurses dont want you to have to be sick in school and get others sick..that might just be my theroy ..just see how things go

Go to school and go straight to the nurse's office. If he/she decides you're sick enough to go home, you're sick enough to go home!

dont make yourself puke. it not natural and you can get cancer from being belimic. idk but you should gain your moms trust to get her to belive her. good luck
