if jesus wouldn't kill, then why do people who support the war of killing call themselves christians?

One of the books that did not make it into the bible, all thanks to the council of Nicea, was the youth and child hood of Jesus... during that time he actually killed several people, only to bring them back to life.

So imagine a bunch of grumpy old men sitting around trying to determine what books should be included in the bible when the get to the tales of Jesus murdering some of his peers, only to use his divine magic to bring them back to life... This of course would not do, and that book was tossed out because it would give a completely different image of Jesus.

This is why there is a gap in the life of Jesus in the bible...

Jesus and God are one in the same, so yes Jesus would kill. Read the old Testament and the flooding of the world. You don't think a lot of people died than? What about Saddam and Gamora (SP?) both were destroyed. In the Ten Commandments it says, "You shall not murder" not you shall not kill. Murder is killing innocent people. Basically Jesus would have no problem with Christians killing Hitler or terrorist and stopping evil before it spread across the world. In fact I am sure that he would demand it of us.

Jesus is God. He always has been and will always be. God killed people, and the Old Testament tells us about many times He killed people for being evil. Because Jesus is God, and God has killed, then yes, Jesus has killed. Sometimes killing is good. That is why the proper commandment is not "though shall not kill", it is "thou shall not murder". Not all killing is murder. Read the Bible to see the difference...

I too have often wondered this same thing. Jesus was the original hippie (minus the weed habit I believe). I can't imagine him condoning acts of war and violence regardless of the circumstances. He was the original "turn the other cheek" guy was he not?

while jesus was alive, he turned the other cheek and allowed others to kill him before he would take any life.
it is written in prophesy, i think in isaiah, that he was a tender person that wouldnt even bend a reed.
however, the bible records that he says that 'vengence' is mine! I will repay.

he did preach forgiveness and the bible says he faithful to forgive anyone who asks. he even said to forgive 70 x 70.

however before jesus lived, abraham was called a 'bloody prophet' even though jesus declared that jewish religious leaders were murderers and children of satan. in the book of revelation he is described and dipping his robe in blood which conclusively says he will destroy the wicked. symbolically.

Jesus never killed anybody; and even preached about turning the other cheek. I would say He was basically anti-war.

The King will have someone else do that work.

Luke 19:27 "But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence."
