A nurse does as much if not more than a physician does. They are sympathetic where a physician usually tends to be too realistic and harsh. I have been a nurse for 10 years and I felt as if I did more than a doctor did, I collected all the info did a diagnosis and usually you have the answer before the physician has to even see this person! A nurse is Amazing for the person dealing with emotional feelings that seem impossible to handle, they have patience and a special way of dealing with people like no other can. They listen more than talk. They are so close to patients that sometimes they catch things that could be serious way before a doctor would see it coming on. OMG! GLENN HIT IT ON THE NOSE!!!!!! OVERWORKED BIG TIME!!!! double shifts way too often!!!!

A nurse is someone who chooses a profession because he or she has the desire to help people. A nurse chooses a place to work where he or she can use his/her brain and her back to make the world a better place for those who are suffering. A nurse is someone who can help you physically, emotionally, and spiritually. A nurse is someone who can help you manage and treat problems you are having that are affecting your daily life. A nurse can work in a hospital, nursing home, home care, a doctors office, an insurance office, in an educational institution, a jail or prison, in a school. Nurses can be found anywhere and everywhere.
Where would the world be without nurses????

A nurse is someone that is suppose to help a person feel better, help them when they can't help themselves, they even have to help the family with information on how to take care of the love one at home, etc....
You should write a paper on Flo Nightingale who was a very good nurse.

Upon hearing the word nurse....the immediate and quick idea that gets into my mind is a lady in white with a cap on her head and a syringe with needles in her hand. That's the very quick response upon hearing such word.
Sometimes I would think of breastfeeding the baby upon hearing the word simply said "nurse". I would think of a person/s giving care if the word is said "a nurse or nurses"
Comes next after the initial thoughts.....are the thoughts associating a lady with a cap or a man in white uniform enduring hardship and sacrifices to contribute worthy contribution in the patient care. The flow of my thoughts then pictures out those busy carers checking on the patients holding charts to check and make writings and recordings, giving medicines and checking on IV's, making telephone calls and answering doctor's inquiries, and later becomes busy in charting business. Can't get rid of getting into my thoughts of those pretty nice and accommodating nurse and of course alongside also comes the thought of nasty ones.
Anyway you may be interested to read more on the conflicts of the usage of such word, visit this link:

I hate to say it but........I think of a girl. Not really sure why. I just do. Even though I know that there are male nurses. I don't however think of only a male when I think of a doctor. What's up with that?

I think of my job.I work nursing in a small group facility for profoundly mentally retarded with physical disabilities and in need of total care.
Nurses: caring, compassionate, patient, hardworking, underpaid, underappreciated. Med passes, patient care, paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork. WE ARE THE EYES AND EARS OF PHYSICIANS.

I am a nurse. I think of hardwork, paper work. Back trouble, neck pain, foot problems. Overworked, stressed out, under paid, under appreciated. Patient care is non-existent because you are charting for 11.5 hours out of your shift. Prayer---that you don't kill anyone because you do not have enough help. Glad I now have a desk job and not longer work in a HELLspital!!!!!!
