I'm helping a coworker put together her wedding in April. The colors she's picked are Ivory/Champagne, Gold, and Black. We have the invitations more or less figured out. I'm just trying to help her come up with favors and centerpieces that are fairly inexpensive. She wants it to be classy, simple, and elegant without breaking the bank.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Thank you! :)

PS: I'll pick a best answer.

how bout ivory & champ flower centerpieces?
and you can put gold and black beads or gems in with them (a florist will show you how) or the vases can alternate one black one gold. you can probobly find them cheap at target or ikea, or the florist can rent them for you. but if you buy them your self you can give the whole centerpiece with vase to someone at each table (say whoevers birthday is first) as an additional favor.
and for favors i found a lot of cheap ones on www.theknot.com .. i think the best ones are the photo coasters people can reuse those forever and change the picture in it over and over. they can also double as placecard holders, if you type each persons name and put it inside the frame window, with a table number.

She could have mini cakes made and use those as centerpieces, one cake per table. She could also have candle centerpieces (much cheaper than flowers but they look beautiful, brings an ambiance to the room). Make sure she checks with the location regarding open flames, lots of place I looked into require the flames to be enclosed in hurricanes. For favors she could send a slice of cake home with everyone, make a frost cake shaped cookies and wrap in cellophane. She could also get organza bags or even little tins (round, box or heart shape) and fill them with wedding butter mints, Jordan almonds or any other small candy. Whatever you decide on be sure to check EBAY! I scored on some picture frame coasters. I found multiple sellers who had to many from their wedding and were selling them dirt cheap.

Hi:

Well....I have LOTS of ideas:

Does your friend want to incorporate the favors AND centerpiece into one? Here is an example from Martha Stewart....Stacked favors on a pedestal cake plate:
http://www.marthastewart.com/portal/site/mslo/menuitem.0e0eb51a2e6b5ad593598e10d373a0a0/?vgnextoid=216dc137bf22f010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCRD&autonomy_kw=stacked%20favor%20centerpiece&rsc=ns2006_m2

Of course, she would want to get GOLD boxes and wrap them in black ribbon. The gold favor boxes are easy to find from various sellers on the internet and on Ebay.

Now, if she does not want to combine the two, my idea for a favor are some Hershey Kisses in a gold mesh bag. Again, the gold mesh favor bags are sold at craft stores like Michael's, at various online retailers and on Ebay. Tell your friend not to go overboard with the favors. Everyone on this forum usually agrees that chocolates, or something edible, is the best favor. Others get wasted.

Centerpieces if she doesn't want the combined favor "thing":

~ Small potted plants "wrapped" in gold foil;
~ Black vases...you can get wholesale at:
http://search.instawares.com/black-vase.0.3.0.htm

and use these gold "picks":

I have seen these used for centerpieces and they look great! She could also use the clear cylinder vases for these. AND, if she used the potted plant idea, you can always put a few of these gold "foils" in the plants for some extra color.

Another simple, easy idea is to get a clear glass bowl or vase (look at save-on-crafts.com) and fill the bottom with some "glass vase gems" and then float a gold disc candle in it. Everything for this is available through Save-on-Crafts or at your local Dollar Store, Michael's, Walmart, or Hobby Lobby!

Good luck!

go to marylandchina.com. They have some porcelain trinket boxes and some candy dishes that are just gorgeous for $2.50 to $3.00 per favor. They come in bone white and some have gold trim. They are high quality and I ordered 25 myself for a special milestone birthday party. Speak to Ashley and you will be very surprised how lovely these favors are compared to the run of the mill favors that are shown on the internet. Believe me I looked and looked till I found this site. Take a look and you will be more than surprised at the quality.

What I think is a nice change from a favor (since people usually throw them out anyways)...is to have a pretty note on each plate at the table that says "In lieu of a favor, we have used that money to make a donation to ____________. Thank you for your love and support on this special day." Then you can donate whatever money you would have spent to a good cause instead. We got so many compliments during our wedding because we did that. Everyone thought it was such a nice sentiment and more useful than a favor they would throw away.

you additionally could make a flower centerpiece and whilst it extremely is close to the top of the marriage, you get an merchandise and tell the folk to pass the item around, and play some track. whilst the track stops, the guy retaining the item gets the middle-piece. For the different people who did no longer get the middle-piece, provide them goodies from See's candy or some thing else. P.s. For the middle-piece, you need to use military shade of blue flora.
